Negative: No milk in Bedroom for Coffee no Decaf Coffee only Coffee Maker with pods. Herbal Teas only. Pleased I took my own coffee tea and milk

Positive: The beds were very comfortable. Once we were relocated to a different room, it was a pleasant stay. The breakfast choice was reasonable and the breakfast team attentive.

Negative: First allocated room did not represent what was portrayed on the website booking. It was very dark, oppressive, no air con and with only a French door onto an inner courtyard used by others you couldn't open it and leave it open. It was suffocatingly hot and stuffy and very claustrophobic. A large fan was provided but this was extremely noisy all night. The overall result was a sleepless night. The whole hot water tap to the basin also turned around completely. However, raising concerns resulted in attentive staff relocating us to a new room and we were pleased at the prompt response. The website had not been updated to state free parking was no longer available. Again, when pointed out that this was one of the conditions why we'd booked this hotel, again, the daily charges were removed from our final invoice. The evening dinner was expensive for what it was and a disappointment. We'd originally enquired about the Sunday roast when booking a table. On arrival, we were informed after a busy lunchtime it was no longer available. The alternative choice medium-rare steak was served grey and was tasteless. We ate elsewhere locally for our remaining evening dinners with much better quality and value. Although remedial actions were taken by the hotel, it's not somewhere I would rush to return to as it left us feeling disappointed overall and not at all relaxed for a planned getaway.

Negative: Really disappointed with breakfast We went one hour before it ended and there was only really continental Eggs were offered but only to a few and we had to ask, and you were rushed out - table cleared before finishing coffee it was really disappointing considering the room and other experiences were good. One man was offered eggs and that’s all he had… no bacon or sausages - huge shame as staff greeted us and were polite but it ruined the experience
