Summary: First room we were in the AC wasn’t working and being July it was extremely hot. We called front desk and they sent a tech to make sure it wasn’t working. They wanted us to go to dinner while they fixed it but we needed a shower and the front staff seemed reluctant to just give us another room. The first room and the new room were both extremely dusty. The bathroom in the 2nd room was still dirty and weird spill marks under the desk and one of the drawers. The property is nice but it is disgusting. Luckily I always carry things like Lysol wipes . I woke up the next day with an allergy flare up. Will not come back. Tried to attach photos and they won’t load sorry

Summary: The bellhop was very friendly, assisted without question and was extremely helpful. He helped get my bags to my room and delivered the utensils I requested. The bellhop more than deserves a raise. No one offered to help with my bags until they saw me struggling with the luggage cart and no one should have to ask for help with their bags with bellhops on staff. The front desk wasn't very accommodating. I wish I got the bellhops name as he made my stay better. I endured a lot of travel and transit to get to The Maya, and it was quite frustrating searching for a luggage cart and bag assistance. It was my birthday trip, and I didn't feel catered to at all. If anyone is coming to celebrate their birthday at least tell them happy birthday if there aren't any accommodations or complimentary items for birthday guests. Being active military, Ive spent less and received more and better treatment at other hotels. The location was nice, the room was beautiful and clean as The Maya appeared to be a luxury style hotel, but I didn't see any slippers or a robe. The value for what I received from The Maya was not worth the price I paid. I looked forward to my first mini solo trip especially for my birthday. I had been out to sea working the month prior then took the train straight to The Maya. I didn't expect to see so many kids and my room was right at the elevator so there was no peace.

Summary: Just be careful when eating at El Fuego Two appetizers and two drinks will easily be over $100 after a 20% service charge and tax, which includes that so named Service charge which is automatically included in your bill
