Positive: Stunning property and surrounds, very peaceful. Not a lot to do in the area which is great if you just want to relax. Food was really good but you’ll need transport if you don’t want to eat at the property. Local waterfall was lovely. The wonderful caretakers don’t speak a lot of English but that made me dust off my Indonesian.

Negative: It rained while I was there which was nice but I had to close the shutters which made the room very dark. Dogs were a bit confronting when I walked in the neighbourhood but not the properties fault.

Summary: Would definitely stay again.

They offer the warmest, most genuine Indonesian hospitality we have ever experienced—it feels so much like being home. Ibu Louisa greeted us like we were long-lost family! The personalized attention to detail was incredible. The pantry was stocked with delicious local snacks, high-quality coffee and tea, and—crucially for a cozy stay in Manikyang’s climate as Asian —instant noodles! I loved the selection of classic books she left out; I actually managed to finish one! She really thinks of everything so you never feel bored or hungry. And the linens, they smelled so good! Getting a package of the perfume as a gift at the end was such a thoughtful idea—the scent instantly takes me back to our cozy stay. This is a rare and wonderful find for families. Our children (3 and 6 years old) immediately formed deep connections with everyone there—Ibu Louisa, Mas Dhani, and Bapak/Ibu Tude. They laughed, played, and shared such wonderful moments, which gave us parents much-needed space to rest and heal im the middle of all that beautiful natural surroundings. Every morning, the kids rushed to find them. Even a month later, they are still talking about the wonderful people they met. That is the true measure of a memorable stay and the genuine friendship we found here. Leaving was tough, but we are absolutely coming back. If you want a truly authentic experience of Balinese village life and that incredible Indonesian hospitality, skip the resort and book here. Highly, highly recommend you treat yourself to a stay!

Scattered across the property are charming little houses for rent, each nestled among coconut palms, banana trees, durian trees, clove trees, and many other tropical plants that fill the air with life and fragrance. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly hosts, Pak Tude and his wife. Once settled, we were treated to fresh coconut drinks served right in their shells — a lovely touch that instantly made us feel at home. The swimming pool is invitingly cool by day and beautifully illuminated at night, perfect for a tranquil evening dip under the stars. What makes this place truly special is its harmony with nature. The chorus of frogs and crickets at night, the sight of birds’ nests among the tall rafters, and the little frogs leaping away as you pass — all remind you that this is a place where humans and nature coexist peacefully. Even the ants go about their day respectfully, as if part of the rhythm of life here. The accommodation itself is beautifully designed, combining traditional Javanese craftsmanship with modern comfort. The buildings, made from wood brought from Java, feature exquisite detailing reminiscent of classic Javanese houses. Inside, the wooden beams and structures retain their traditional charm, while the kitchens and bathrooms are refreshingly modern — with powerful hot showers, bidet-equipped bathrooms, and thoughtful touches that make every stay comfortable. We loved it so much that we extended our stay! There’s even a larger house ideal for families or groups of six. It has two spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds — one featuring two sets of brand-new bunk beds — and a kitchen with gas cooking and a large fridge-freezer for all your food and drinks.
