Summary: Rooms were clean and well kept. My only complaint was the rooms have no dressers.

Summary: The Kontiki is a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. The property is well-maintained with great on-site parking. The beach view is amazing being that you are right on Mambo beach with dozens of shops, restaurants, and activities to participate in. I stayed in the Tropical Superior room with my boyfriend and can say the room was great, but needs a little renovation. My only issue is housekeeping, we had to constantly worry about whether or not they would show up due to the lack of service on our first day. Keep in mind room service leaves at 4:30PM and once they do there is no clean up and you’ll have to wait till the next day. I would tell the front desk to inform the housekeepers and somehow the message wouldn’t be delivered unless I spoke to a housekeeper myself; that was the annoying part. Another issue we faced is the smell of the sewer system coming out of the drain/toilet. They “fixed” it, but it looks like they just cleaned the toilet and put some cleaner in — an otherwise temporary fix. Regardless, our trip was still amazing experience, phenomenal location, and friendly staff. I would come back in a couple of years to revisit again.

Summary: Lovely stay at the Kontiki for the most part. It was very loud Friday night for the club night and Saturday afternoon for the club brunch, so bring ear plugs if your room is close to the beach. Housecleaning came every day and did a good job. Staff was helpful, except for service on the beach wasn’t great. I loved the saltwater pools and felt private since most people were on the beach. Close to Mambo Beach for shops and restaurants.

Summary: PROS: The resort is absolutely beautiful. Winding sidewalks make it feel like you are actually walking through a jungle. They also do a great job of concealing the rooms to where it never feels like there are as many people there as there actually are. The pools are great, always cool and very clean. The rooms are spacious and all have there own private porches. The resorts beach is lovely. CONS: The rooms are definitely in need of updating. Water pressure was an issue for both of the rooms we had and even though the tubs are big, the faucets were broken in both the rooms we had. Customer service was kind of meh. They contact you through WhatsApp, but responses take a while to get back, if at all. We had an issue our first night and had to change rooms. I first asked through the app about changing rooms, which took 4 hours for a response!!! We were offered room next to loud music that was only loud 3 times a week.......When we didn't want to accept this offer, they offered us an upgrade that would have cost us $250 extra a night!!!! Wow. We also were supposed to receive a welcome drink when we arrived. Nope When I asked a couple days later about it, they acted as if I was trying to get extra welcome drinks. lol The resort also has a VIP section of the beach that costs an extra $65 per day to use. Why, I have no idea because they don't explain why and it looks just like the Non-VIP beach. Last, no private music on the beach. No bluetooth speakers. Why, No idea!!

Summary: The Kontiki beach resort was so amazing! All the shops and restaurants are 5 minutes away from your room. The food was 10/10. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I stayed on the luxury side and the rooms were so clean! Every day they gave you complementary waters in your room. I would just recommend renting a car to get around to the town and other areas of the island. Taxi and drivers can get very expensive! But whenever I did need a driver the front desk helped call me one. Beautiful resort! Steps away from the beach. It gets very HOT so bring sunscreen for sure! Though my suite had sunscreen in it and bug repellent. The room literally came with everything you needed! Pack plug adapters. Everywhere took card! Or tap. Also American dollar is widely accepted. No need to change your money to theirs. Beautiful resort and staff! 10/10 would recommend this resort.
