Positive: Cost and comfortable. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Cosy.
Negative: We were locked out of the tv ( we didn’t mention it ). Nowhere to put and access luggage apart from on floor at foot of bed.
Summary: It’s a lovely country pub and what we were looking for coming from Australia.

Positive: Beautiful decorated warm and cosy room
Negative: The dinning room was great had the tasting menu with the wine. Food and wine fabulous. Staff well informed for every course. There was a table of 8 people that sat behind us that were very noisy . So hard to hold a conversation with my husband ☹️ and noisy until 1 am so not much sleep .

Positive: Location.
Negative: Staff to busy serving locals and not to bothered with guests. Was led to believe i had to pay at property for our stay. We didnt stay for breakfast as not served till 9am and needex to be on road. We were not offered anything, or part refund. So when i said i wanted to pay, was told it had been taken care of. Only to find out money was taken from bank the same day i booked. So was not to impressed by misinformation.

Positive: A welcoming pub with friendly staff, a lively bar and interesting food options. A good breakfast too. Our bedroom was on the small side but comfortable and well-equipped. Hursley is a charming village, although a busy road runs right through it.
Negative: Some road noise during the night. The "small plate" options on the menu, although tasty, were decidedly small.
Summary: Pleasant pub stay near Winchester.

Positive: Not quite sure what to expect after reading some mixed reviews but when we arrived the bar area was very busy but we were quickly checked in, shown where the emergency escape was then shown to our room on the first floor. Went out for a quick walk in the very pretty village after a long car drive and by that time the bar area was much quieter. Had a couple drinks which were sensibly priced then went for a lovely dinner in the Snug where we could choose from the Snug or Dining Room menus. A very good breakfast the following morning. The room we stayed at was fine and well decorated as was the whole place.
Negative: A lack of electrical sockets in the room which made charging a little problematic.
Summary: A fine place to stay in a very pretty village.

Positive: The room was lovely and clearly freshly refurbished, however the bathroom being on the ground floor meant that at night we had to use the very steep and dark flight of stairs to reach it, not ideal and not really safe.
Negative: The decor was lovely and the room was very spacious.
