Summary: I grew up in Tulia and we needed a place to stay locally to visit with family over the holiday - the house worked well for this and we were happy to have it as an option. A few thoughtful additions to the kitchen such as more complete dinnerware (needs cereal bowls), better selection and sizes of drinking glasses (wine glasses would be nice) and more variety of pots, pans and skillets would make the kitchen much more functional. We had to scavenge things from other family members' homes to compensate for these missing items. Kitchen cabinets and drawers would have benefited from more attention to cleaning and organization as well as the refrigerator. Additionally, attention to bathroom details like hooks to hang towels on would be good. We also had to unclog two very slow drains to make the hall bathroom functional. The windows need cleaning - would make a big difference! Overall it's a diamond in the rough and with a bit more attention to these details it will be a real pleasure to stay in and will be a competitive listing should more properties like this become available.

Summary: Hornets Hive was perfect for our two night stay. We flew into Amarillo and drove to Tulia to help our mom with some family projects. My brother, sister and I all stayed at Hornets Hive and it was a great respite to come back to after a long day. We would make some dinner, watch TV and kick up our feet. Literally! (Try the recliners) We love knowing this home is there for our next visit. You feel welcome the moment you walk in!
