Positive: It was convenient for a wedding venue in the local area, well serviced by taxis, 15 minutes to Chelmsfords park and ride. This venue has great history and is set in a lovely village . The evening food in the restaurant was excellent

Negative: Road outside is busy at peak times, but we were placed in a room at the back overlooking the car park so didn’t really hear the noise.

Positive: The staff were exceptional. Very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and the room was very comfortable and had tea/coffee etc which was very welcome.

Negative: A slightly earlier check in would have been helpful, but as we knew we couldn’t check in until 3pm, we worked round it.

Summary: A good find in close proximity to the local wedding venue where we were attending.

Positive: Very friendly welcome and two very nice rooms, one in the main building and one in the outbuilding. Very tasty breakfast and also a nice pub to have a drink before turning in. Shower in the room was very nice and roomy

Negative: It might have been nice if there was a small shelf in the shower to put our shower foam and shampoo on. (Only a very minor thing!)
