Positive: The room was more spacious than expected and decorated really nicely. The courtyard space was lovely and there were nice rooms to chill in as well.
Negative: It was so overpriced for the experience we had, I wouldn’t recommend. They have clearly tried to cut costs as the same member of staff welcomed us, served us at the bar in the evening, later at dinner and then again at breakfast the next day. Some of the facilities in the spa didn’t work and we were not informed of this upon arrival. There were no cushions in the courtyard so despite it being a lovely space it felt unwelcoming, it wasn’t raining and people were sat outside. Did not feel like a luxury stay which I would expect from the price.

Negative: Staff were very nice but young and inexperienced. We had very little interaction with staff during the stay and didn’t feel particularly welcomed or looked after. The vibe was a bit cold and impersonal. Our room was small and dark with only a tiny window right up against a hedge. The village of Langham was pretty but there was nothing else in the village in terms of a pub or shop. There were no walks directly from the hotel and it was a 10-20 minute drive to get anywhere. Obviously that’s not a problem in itself but we were left wondering why, with such a unremarkable location the hotel was so much more expensive than anywhere else in the area.
Summary: An acceptable stay but at almost £400 per night, not good value for money.
