Positive: The breakfast was excellent—all of the breakfast food I look for.

Negative: For me, the water temperature setting in the shower needed to be more responsive. The space itself is small, and I could not get the hot water temperature reduced to a slightly cooler level quickly enough.

Summary: My husband and I love staying in “inns with a history”—we are very familiar with very old buildings!

Negative: 3rd floor was challenging for seniors bed was too high, and the bathroom was small and awkward.

Positive: The Location was great, we have visited Essex many times and thought we would stay a few nights with a visit to the Goodspeed Theater.

Negative: The room was very small with only one chair to relax, for two people. The shower room is tiny. Breakfast was a big let down for me. Could do much better with the layout and items on offer. The Hotel is all about dining with no lounge area to sit and relax in from the cold. Some comfy chairs by a big fire definitely missing.
