Positive: The house was lovely and spacious. The beds were really comfortable and we had everything we needed. The host was excellent. Very welcoming and accommodating. The shower was really nice too.

Negative: The house was tidy and well kept but it could have been slightly cleaner with the dusting. There were quite a few spiders downstairs. The stairs were also very creaky.

Negative: There are many fixings that are broken. The master shower is broken. The trim by the back door is broken and a trip hazard. The level of cleanliness is poor as all the cupboard doors in the kitchen are dirty. Cobwebs in the toilet and cotton buds stuck in the radiators. The back garden is slippery and poorly kept with a dumped bicycle and a back gate that can’t be locked. The boiler in the master bedroom is really noisy. The extendable table has food debris stuck in the gap and there is peeling paint in the bathrooms.

Summary: A roomy property that needs a good clean.

Positive: Comfortable large beds, large bathrooms ,great host with a personal touch and easy to contact. Quiet area with a nice park nearby. Warm and cosy.

Negative: Not alot of downstairs space when 2 families staying . Some essential kitchen utensils missing. Some areas not as clean and as well maintained as they should be. Only one designated car park space, the rest is on street parking that's quite tight and crowded.

Positive: There was plenty of space and for our family group - the arrangement of bedrooms and bathrooms was good. There was a little garden so we could sit outside. The location was close to the things we had planned to visit. There was plenty of hot water for the four of us, the towels, linen and pillows are nice quality. Nicely furnished, very tasteful and comfortable lounge.

Negative: Check in is a bit haphazard. The owner arrived after us (we sat outside waiting for a good half hour) to tell us that our house wasn't ready but he had another we could use. No wardrobes or hanging space. If you're cooking for yourself and using the dishwasher you really need a bit more cutlery/kitchen equipment, we ended up washing things that we needed again. There was nothing to wipe the surfaces or the garden furniture which was grubby. The accommodation is billed as luxury but really I think more thought needs to be put into the equipment - a simple roll of kitchen paper and a cleaning spray would have helped. Garden definitely needs attention but then it wasn't the house we had booked so maybe that's why it wasn't ready for guests.
