Positive: The location is excellent, close to the bus station, the shopping area, and the old city. The pub and the area downstairs is an asset, as well as the common room Staff are very kind and always helpful, and reception is open 24/7

Negative: There are few toilets and shower stalls. In times of high occupation, it might be a problem.

Positive: I've stayed here several times and the location is perfect. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I was really lucky and had the room to myself so I actually got some sleep which I usually don't in hostels. The beds are comfortable and the showers are better than last time I visited a year or so ago. The plug sockets and lights by the beds are great to have. The Jamaican food onsite is also fantastic, but be prepared to wait for it if it's busy.

Negative: The toilets by the dorms were absolutely filthy and out of toilet roll for most of my stay. It was a busy Saturday night, but it was really gross. I understand why they take a £20 deposit as a party hostel, but I'm really not a fan of it. There's also zero noise insulation. Anyone walking or talking in the hall sounds like they're in the room with you. Definitely bring earplugs.

Positive: comfortable and cosy rooms + nice pub

Negative: loud guests/sound coming through walls, bathrooms and common room were pretty dirty
