Summary: The staff behind the bar and who worked in the restaurant were very friendly. The room was a good size and there was nice view from our window. Breakfast was brought to your room rather than in the restaurant, this was different and gave the option for having breakfast in bed. The only downside was that the door for the stairwell at the end of the hallway kept slamming. This door was next to our room which was quite frustrating.

Summary: Lovely place to stay if you are travelling along the A66. Staff were friendly and welcoming, room was big and spacious. Breakfast was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Summary: Staff really nice. Bargain had no atmosphere and draft beers were disgusting and expensive. Room was at the rear with a nice view. Soundproofing between rooms and downstairs wasn't great. Lots of doors banging closed. The most disappointing was breakfast. They ask you to fill in what you want the night before but then it seems they just give you what they want. Several missing items, milk but no cereal, 1 tiny pot of jam between 2 people, 1 tiny orange juice between 2. Other items incorrect and no one around to get it corrected. Both overnight oats orders were wrong, they were also very liquidy and room temperature so they were left untouched. Pointless offering this type of breakfast if people can't follow a sheet they've made you fill in.

Summary: Really nice hotel and lovely room - plenty of natural light and a really good size. Ate in the restaurant and the staff were also really friendly and helpful.

Summary: Lovely little spot to stay, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The room was really nicely decorated and very clean and breakfast was certainly different but not in a bad way. The little hamper is a nice little touch, maybe not to everyone's taste but I found it quite cute and unique. Thank you for a lovely stay. 😊 Great view from our room

Summary: Lovely place to stay when attending a wedding nearby. Able to pick up keys early to help with getting to the wedding on time. Lovely room and helpful to have a breakfast hamper delivered to the room to set us up the next morning.

Summary: Good value hotel, decent breakfast and very nice evening meal. We were allocated room 9 which is literally 10 feet away from the A66. Traffic is non stop 24/7. Despite booking months in advance and the hotel being half empty going by the number of cars in the carpark each morning, this room was ours for 3 nights. Window blind was broken and permanently down so couldn't even close the bedroom window to keep the noise out. Like sleeping in a tent at the side of the motorway. The thing is they knew the blind was broken yet still allocated us that room under the pretence it would be fixed. But it never was. So we had no natural light and loud road noise for 3 days and nights.

Summary: Not great. We arrived early wondered if we could pick up a key without need to access the room as their check in closed early on a Sunday. The place was closed and locked up. I called but they said the were cleaning the restaurant so couldn't help.! We drove away then received a call but too late; maybe they saw how ridiculous it was, 5 minutes! The room; the noise level from the road was unbelievable, we closed the windows but it was still too noisy to sleep and too hot without a window open. Every time a truck went past the door made a noise, adding to the racket, all night long. The bed had springs sticking up but didn't matter as couldn't sleep due to the noise. The bartender was good on the first night despite us being told that the bar would be closed at 7pm. Trying to get out onto the road to leave is really dodgy. I got the feeling we were on the row with workers as we're disturbed long before six am with banging etc from the corridor. Overall not a great experience, we left exhausted. I would not recommend it unless a room at the back of the hotel was guaranteed.

Summary: The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. As 2 adults only we did have a meal which was ok however I felt the veggie option for main dishes was limited but a combo of kids menu & a side was ok. Our main issue with our over night stay was the noise. Our room was on the main road side,which cant be helped, however the double glazing did a decent job of keeping noise out. The issue was from internal noise, it wasn't the fault of other guests being loud or especially noisy, everyone was lovely, it was just that the walls were soooo thin - possibly plasterboard installed in the refurbishment? We could hear everything from, TVs, conversations in the next room, the fire door outside room constantly opening/closing as people passed by as well as every footstep in room above. This together with keeping windows closed for external noise didn't lead to a great night. The breakfast was ok but delivered to your room in a hamper with a choice of oats/ cereal/ pastry/ juice & a piece of fruit. We hadn't realised this was the case until we arrived and it would of been great to have the option of a cooked breakfast - even toast & coffee - eaten at a table rather than sitting on the bed. We would have been happy to pay extra if this had been an option. Overall our stay was ok but despite loving the atmosphere in bar, great staff and cleanliness of rooms we feel the combo of noise, limited veggie menu and breakfast set up means we would not stay again.
