Positive: The location was perfect after a tiring day at Drayton Manor and we were very happy with just a 3 minute drive. Parked up at the back of the pub, checked in and then came back down for a drink and some really lovely food. I had cottage pie & my son had spaghetti bolognese. Staff were very friendly too and very welcoming. We had breakfast next day too, which was also very nice. The prices of both dinner & breakfast were great too ... great value for money. Seen reviews previously saying no kettle in the rooms but there was ... and provided tea & coffee.

Negative: Only things were no chair in the room for the dressing table. There was no hairdryer but I'd brought my own. I'd also packed our own fan, which we were glad of as it was a hot evening & night. Our room overlooked the car park and we could hear some noise but what else would you expect staying over a pub eh? Not bad noise ... just cars & chatting etc. And I was only in the room earlyish as I had a young child with me and noise stopped after pub closing time.

Summary: Would definitely stay again

Positive: We needed a cheap and cheerful place to stay when visiting the nearby Snow Dome in Tamworth. This did exactly what we needed. Clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. And the price is excellent for what you get. They weren’t serving food the evening we stayed but we were invited to get some food from the range of takeaways across the road and eat it in the bar, where we were provided with plates and cutlery.

Negative: The facilities are basic but nothing unexpected at the price we paid. The blind in our room could have done with updating or maybe some curtains.

Negative: There was no door handle on the inside of the bathroom, which could be serious if you didn't realise and the remote control for the tv wasn't working.

Positive: Great little pub hotel, friendly staff and great location. For what I paid I was very happy with what I got, a clean bed and safe place to stay. Staff were very happy to provide anything you needed, cutlery, ice extra toilet roll etc. had tea/coffee making facilities in the bar which was nice. Overall happy with my stay here and would stay again.

Negative: The bathroom could have been cleaner, mould/mildue build up around the shower sealant, and general attention to detail when cleaning the rest of the room, found a few bits and pieces under beds etc. could do with some general maintenance too, headboards on beds were loose (one not on wall) paintings loose, paint could be touched up etc Also found when trying to load up the car that we were actually locked in via the front entrance until about 8:10am, I’m assuming there is some other way to exit and enter the building during pub closed hours, however we were not made aware of this. It also meant a later start to my journey home than planned. Dont expect to be able to park your car, I booked an expecting car parking however the car park was tiny, and rammed full, staff suggested a side street close by to park which worked out fine but as a disabled individual who cannot always walk far it wasn’t ideal.

Summary: budget friendly pub hotel stay.
