Positive: From the moment we arrived for our two night stay Adam welcomed in a friendly professional manner. The spacious room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. There was tea and coffee facilities with Border biscuits. The bathroom was bright and the shower excellent and easy to use. The shower gel etc was lovely. It was a quiet room. We ate in the bar one evening and the food was well cooked as was breakfast.

Negative: All was good. I would have liked some herb tea sachets.

Positive: We love coming to stay here and now it is under new management we were lucky enough for the new manager to make time to talk to us at breakfast. I think Adam will be such an asset to this lovely place. We look forward to returning soon.

Summary: It’s our little piece of relaxation and such a treat for us.

Positive: Easy and quick check in. Lovely comfy bed. Good sized room with great refreshments in the room - nice touch. Easy access to return to after a wedding at St Neots golf club. Excellent, tasty breakfast with drinks. Everything we needed in the bathroom. Everything felt great value for money for our stay.

Negative: I couldn't work out which switch controlled main light, couldn't switch it on but this wasn't an issue, the bed lights were adequate. Window was left open when checked in, not a big issue, closed it when we got in but took a while to heat up when we got back. I wish we'd popped the heating on before we left! I couldn't work out how to put towel rail on either so bathroom was cold to go into and when getting into the morning shower.

Positive: Stylish room. Good room facilities. HOT shower. Big towels.

Negative: Sunday Roast was poor (beef wasn’t pink as the menu suggested, staff didn’t acknowledge gluten free allergy. No follow up for drinks, roast potatoes were definitely microwaved as the crockery was hotter than the food). Some staff were friendly, but the grumpy ones stood out!

Summary: Room great, restaurant less so.

Positive: The staff were so helpful. We were staying as we were at a wedding and they allowed us to have our key early and explained the late night access process. In the morning when the new chef didn’t know how to do poached eggs, the server did it for him and they were the best poached eggs.

Positive: The bed was comfy and the room tasteful. I very much enjoyed my dinner (burger) , but it was a little on the pricey side. Also a very basic thing but I really enjoyed having a hotel key, as opposed to a tap card- it had a real sense of nostalgia!

Negative: The curtains! Not very dark and right on the side of the road so could benefit from better blackout.

Summary: Convenient and comfy- just right
