Positive: The room was very spacious and quiet with a settee and armchair and a very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and attentive, the breakfast menu was very good and was table service. We enjoyed a very nice evening meal on one of the nights. Boroughbridge is a nice town conveniently located just off the A1 making it easy to explore Yorkshire and as a stopping off place on a longer journey. We would definitely stay there again.

Positive: Breakfast and dinner were really, really good and way above traditional "pub grub" benchmark. These truly were "restaurant" class meals and were excellent value for money. The room was a very nice base for our stay. Well presented an nicely furnished and the bathroom was nice and spacious. The real treat for us was the access to the leisure facilities which added a new and different dimension to our weekend break. It is something we shall bear when we look (to re-book), in the future.

Negative: The time seemed to go by all too quickly

Positive: The staff were excellent. The restaurant and the food quality were excellent. The room and the bed were reasonably sized and comfortable. Excellent secure car parking.

Negative: The pillows were quite thin and very firm. This made it awkward to get comfortable.

Positive: The location was great for the function we were attending, breakfast was very good

Negative: When we returned from our night out, and returned to our room, we had no electric, so was unable to use any of the facilities, so had to go straight to bed, in the morning yet again we had no electric, no lighting, couldn't make a tea ot coffee, couldn't use hairdryer and straightners, we were not going to stay for breakfast but had no option but to go downstairs just so we could have a hot drink, hence then staying to have breakfast, what upset me the most was that not one member of staff opologised for any inconvenience we had incurred or any explanation as to why there was no electricity, I was very upset that we where not thought of as important enough for anyone to just say sorry for any inconvenience we suffered during our stay.

Positive: It was quiet hot in the bedroom & we couldn't get the window to open but we used the fan provided. All staff were polite & friendly. Evening meal was good as was breakfast. Room was clean and we had everything we needed.

Negative: No complaints, we enjoyed our stay.

Positive: This was our 2nd stay here - there will definitely be a 3rd. The hotel is very welcoming and homely. The spa facilities are great, the rooms are very comfortable and clean and the food is excellent.

Negative: The jacuzzi was a little too hot for us - we only managed to sit in it for a few minutes. If the temperature had been a little cooler, it would have been lovely to relax in it for a little longer.

Positive: Breakfast was exceptional, all fresh cooked to order. Dinner was good too. Bed comfortable and bathroom fine. Hotel quite individual - lovely furnishing fabrics, pictures and chandeliers everywhere. A very tastefully appointed rabbit warren of a place. We were too late arriving in to try out the leisure facilities so cannot comment on that aspect.
