Summary: We absolutely loved our stay at The Crossing B&B. After a nightmare experience at another nearby property that we left early, arriving here felt instantly warm, welcoming, and genuinely comforting — even without a traditional reception or on-site staff. The self check-in was seamless, and we loved the charm of the individually named rooms. The cozy sitting room was perfect for relaxing, and the location is excellent: directly across from the ScotRail station and a short walk to High Street restaurants and the Duke of Gordon Hotel pub. We stayed in a dog-friendly ground-floor room with a private outdoor entrance overlooking the Gynack Burn, a tributary of the River Spey. Thoughtful touches really stood out: triple-chocolate cookies for us, and treats, waste bags, and extra towels for our dog. The room was spacious and well equipped, with a wardrobe, luggage rack, and desk. We loved the Highland Soap Company products and the lemongrass and ginger scent throughout the common areas. The shower had the hottest water we experienced in the Cairngorms, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. When we needed help with the radiator and towel warmer, it was resolved immediately. Overall, The Crossing exceeded our expectations and was a highlight of our time in Kingussie — we’d happily return and highly recommend it.

Summary: Elizabeth sent me an email before I was checking in making sure i was aware that there would be no one present on site. Keys were left exactly where she said they would be and instructions for breakfast and everything else were easy to understand and locate. The Crossing is suitably located right next to the Kingussie railroad station and is close to the Barracks - one of the sites to see while we were there. Would highly recommend this place.

Summary: Liked the self check in (but means we never saw any staff). Loved the little cookies in our room upon arrival. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was big. We had nice views over the square and train. Walked to get dinner. Wish the room had a mini fridge but there was one for use in the common lounge. I had thought the place had a kitchen for guests use but that was my mistake. Overall nice spot. Clean.
