Positive: Beautiful historic inn in lovely convenient location - we were travelling in by car from Glasgow for 1 night. We stayed in the pod - “snuggle doon”, which was very comfortable and clean and just above the pub overlooking the water. We brought our own food which we were able to prepare easily using the kitchenette in the pod. It had a double hob, kettle, toaster and basic cooking equipment. We went for a few drinks and some chips at the pub. Staff very relaxed and friendly and other folks at the pub friendly too, had a nice vibe. We are an interracial lesbian couple, adding this for those who will find this information helpful. Went for a paddle in one of their kayaks in the morning, which was very easy to arrange. Will definitely be going back sometime.

Negative: Nothing really. Our chips took a while to come but when we reminded them about our order they were with us in just a few minutes. It’s right by the road, which was a little busy at certain points during our stay, so this may bother some. Road noise wasn’t a problem for us for sleeping.

Positive: Dog friendly and very clean. You wouldn’t know that all the guests had dogs with them as the place was very clean. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly.

Negative: The stairs took a bit of getting used to.

Positive: The property has lovely wee touches such as coal fires in every room downstairs and gave a warm family feeling it had a good wee bar for drinks and the food was really nice they also had watersports outside which is good for kids or adults as well I will definitely return,the rooms were lovely very comfortable bed and lovely touches such as cakes coffee tea and toiletries

Negative: No breakfast due to no chef, despite it being advertised and then being told we’d get “breakfast boxes” that didn’t appear.
