Summary: Second time I’ve stayed here when in the area for work. Lovely place and service! Well placed for the Park and ride into Chelmsford. Will definitely stay again!

Summary: The room was very clean with a mix of modern and traditional facilities. Nicely renovated bathroom. The staff in the pub were very friendly and the food was excellent. A great choice of local beers and the food was delicious. Love the large beer garden.

Summary: The compasses inn is a hidden gem. It is far from any main roads and has been voted one of the best pubs for many years. Dining is uncoventional in that you have to choos from many options from a blackboard (rather quaint). The staff are extremely freindly

Summary: Authentic, rural pub. Was very busy the eveningbwe stayed but the staff were very fruendly & efficient. Dinner was great, pub food extremely well cooked & delicious! We also enjoyed an excellent breakfast, cooked & served by a friendly & super efficient member of staff. A great pit-stop for us. Thank you to all at The Compasses!
