Summary: Lovely room with great views. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Really good quality and nicely presented food. Private reading / games room for guests was a really welcome touch. The only fault was the bad smell from the shower drainage pipes in our room, which meant we had to leave the windows open and extractor fan running all night. Other than that I would certainly recommend.

Summary: Nice clean place but only shower gel hand soap and body lotion was provided. No shampoo and conditioner. No biscuits with tea and coffee in room.

Summary: This is an excellent place to stay. The food is very good indeed. We booked last minute, risking what the building was like. We don't like lots of stairs and there are lots. So if we go again we have sorted out which room we would stay in for minimal steps. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The building is built into a hillside, its old and very pretty. The location is amazing.

Summary: Check in was slow but the member of staff dealing with it kept us informed. When she showed us to our room we were very pleased. It was extremely spacious with a massive bed, beautifully decorated and with lovely views from both the bedroom and the bathroom (with strategically placed vase for modesty!). The room was very clean and had everything you would expect. Tasty shortbread provided alongside the tea and coffee. We ate ‘in’ on both nights of our stay and the food was very good -XL fish and chips and whole sea bream were especially nice - and helpings generous. Ale choices were well kept and the wine list reasonably priced. Breakfast was also good with home made yogurt and bread, choices of cooked food and some very positive and welcoming staff.
