Positive: This is truly an ideal island for a getaway far from the world .. untouched by unnecessary concrete and over-designed décor. Natural, even a little rustic, yet filled with sea, sand, sun, books, and peace. Clean, comfortable rooms. The main restaurant serves delicious meals, and dining under the moonlight with the gentle voice of a lady performing live vocals was unforgettable. The cocktails were just as perfect. The Italian & Thai restaurants were also a highlight, offering authentic and flavorful dishes.

Negative: The only drawback was at check-out: obtaining an invoice turned into a long back-and-forth. The hotel asked us to get it via Booking.com, while Booking.com redirected us back to the hotel, and only after lengthy correspondence was I finally able to receive it.

Positive: We had such an amazing time at this resort — everything from the warm welcome to the little details made our stay truly special. A very big compliment to Chef Giuseppe: not only was the food consistently delicious and beautifully presented, but he went above and beyond to make us feel at home. His friendliness and genuine passion for what he does really came through in every meal — it was a highlight of our trip. We would also like to thank Richard and the F&B Manager for always being so kind, attentive, and professional. They were constantly smiling, checking in to make sure we were comfortable, and creating such a positive atmosphere in the restaurants. It really made a difference and elevated our experience. The combination of stunning surroundings, great food, and truly wonderful people made this stay unforgettable. We left with such good memories and can’t wait to return!

Positive: The Centara Collection, Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives offers a fantastic location with an outstanding beach and plenty of fish to admire. The beach villa was super comfortable, providing a great base to relax. The main restaurant, The Reef, was exceptional, always offering a delicious buffet with a lot of variety. The resort is very beautiful, well-maintained, and has friendly staff. One of the best parts is that there are no mosquitoes, thanks to their daily fumigation at 5 pm, which is a huge bonus.

Negative: The secondary restaurants (Thai and Italian) didn’t quite live up to expectations. The spa was a bit expensive, and in general, anything outside of the full board options, including souvenirs, was priced steeply. The resort is also only accessible by seaplane, which adds to the costs
