Positive: The cottage at Yahl greets you with a welcome sign at the door. It is situated in beautiful countryside surrounded by fields and cattle. The front bushes attracted all sorts of birds, which were fun to watch flitting about, from any of the attractively large windows. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped. The bathroom was like a bathroom off an interior design show, with limestone walls, overhead heating, soft bath mat and large shower rose with a good supply of hot water. Very comfy bed. All super clean. Efficient little heater that is portable. The cottage is out of town in an isolated spot and perfect for a couple who like peace and quiet. As we didn’t have a car, we borrowed bicycles from the library for two days so we could carry groceries, and on their return walked everywhere, including back from the Blue Lake.

Negative: Well we really enjoyed our stay and made our own fun. However, we think most people would want a t.v. especially on cold winter nights. Or perhaps a radio. (Unless the cottage was promoted as a ‘get away from it all’ ) Perhaps a couple of board games on the ledge under the lounge table? Cottage may be a bit cold in winter, although would love to stay in summer and see how the thick walls and tiled floor work to cool the place. We thought a side table both sides of the bed with at least one lamp, as light switch near bathroom, would be great for hot drinks for those that like to start/ end the day with a cuppa looking out at the country view. Maybe 2 outdoor chairs and a table to again enjoy that view. Two champagne glasses needed, as the bubbles around Mt Gambier is worth celebrating, as was time away in such an awesome holiday spot. Looking forward to visit again! Thank you

Positive: Loved the location close to town yet surrounded by countryside. Beautifully appointed kitchen and bathroom. Dot who met us with the key was a delight.

Negative: Would have appreciated a bedside table and lamp. The bed is a double and quite small - a queen would be preferable.

Summary: A charming place to stay close to Mount Gambier with the benefits of a rural location.
