Summary: The actual bar and restaurant was really nice but the rooms definitely need an update. The furniture was old and not in a vintage/good way. The cleanliness was OK but nit thorough (see pictures). Small details could also be improved e.g. have a toilet roll holder on the wall rather than having to put the toilet roll on top of the toilet. Fix the shelf in the bathroom as it is not level so can't be used. We were in room 15 and there are 2 large velux qindows. Unfortunately these had no curtains so as soon as the sun came up, we woke up. There was no hairdryer and alao, when we arrived we weren't shown how to operate any of the lights or heating. It was cold and it took a while to work out there was a main electrical switch to the room that wasn't on. We booked the superior double room so I was disappointed as I was expecting more. Saying all of that, I would definitely use the bar and restaurant but wouldn't stay there.

Summary: Lovely stay at the castle inn. Room was great, evening meal and breakfast lovely and staff very friendly. Left my headphones in bedroom and Patsy kindly got in touch to let me know and then posted them back to me.

Summary: Standard British pub experience. Worryingly poor on cleanliness and state of room (e.g. broken shelf in bathroom). Good mateess. Host unable to find room at first. Host did not respond to message on Expedia reserving table and nothing reserved. Dinner basic pub fayre. Breakfast forced to choose between toast or cereal or full English. Good range of beer but unable to advise on local gin. Pub well used by locals and good atmosphere. Lovely situation in centre of village. Quiet.

Summary: Excellent food at breakfast. The owner Keith and his wife were very friendly and always ready to help. The bar staff nothing seemed to much trouble for them very polite will certainly be returning in the future.

Summary: Really lovely owners and bar staff, younger girl waitering in the evening was a bit miserable which stood out a bit as all the other staff were so lovely. The owners really look after you and are so accommodating, genuinely kind, nice people as we’re the bar staff. The room was clean and modern and perfect for our family stay of four, with young children aged 7 & 9. I can’t believe this is only a three star hotel, as it went way above this. The breakfast was really good as well. This is a lovely bar/hotel in the heart of the Village, it’s got a lovely warm, homely, safe atmosphere, with lovely people who obviously live locally going there as well as holiday makers from all over the place. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be staying again. Great location to see local areas of interest and price wise was a bargain in comparison to other place, we really landed on our feet here. Thank you for a lovely stay.
