Summary: Lovely rooms, clean and good quality. Lovely little extras like a mini fridge and a coffee maker, which we're both greatly appreciated. Very peaceful and relaxing. Easy access and plenty of parking.

Summary: We would recommend the Carrington Arms – especially at the price of the room, which was extremely reasonable and overall, we enjoyed our stay, with a couple of tiny niggles… Check-in took a wee while, as the reception area was the bar and we had to wait for a few customers to be served before finally being noticed, welcomed and given the key to our room. After a long drive, I was anxious to dump our bags, freshen up and have a nightcap myself. It was worth the wait, though. The room was spacious, clean and bright, with a well-appointed bathroom and good storage. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, although the red light from the TV and a blue light from something else was a little distracting at first. Breakfast was first class and the service friendly and efficient, which swept away any reservations we may have had regarding the delayed check-in and slightly annoying light-show (which we may have been able to do something about if we hadn't been so plumb tuckered.) Anyway, I'm hoping we can find an excuse to go back some time (maybe with sleeping masks).

Summary: Very good stop on our way south. Near M1. Modern rooms in little pods near the main pub. No air con but fan provided. Excellent food with good menu choices. No dedicated check in staff so you do have to wait for the bar staff to be free. Very good value for money.

Summary: Love coming here, evening meals & breakfast are excellent. Staff are friendly and food prices reasonable. Room rates vary a lot by day of the week and how busy they are but there are some great deals through hotels.com on Friday/Saturday nights
