Positive: Superb location. The Boat House has a garden down to the Loch and is close to the local shop and petrol station. The Lochmaddy Hotel (very good food) is less than a 5 minute walk as is the excellent Arts Centre with its shop and great cafe.

Negative: We couldn't find an iron or ironing board but managed without and we could have asked the helpful Maggie for these.

Positive: Situation on the loch side, privacy, reasonable space. Deer coming onto front lawn at night was lovely.

Negative: Bathroom light not working, despite promises to fix it. No bedding for spare bed and no response when requested. As a result my friend and I had to share the double bed!!! Well used bedding and biscuit pillows need upgrading. TV reception very poor or non existent- guests should be advised to bring computers etc to link into TV. Egg lift not available. Manager made no contact to check whether we were comfortable or not. Cobwebs in rafters above bed.

Summary: A nice place to stay, but a thorough cleaning, and upgrading of linen would make the accommodation more comfortable.
