Positive: A good place to stay. We had a nice, decent sized room. The staff were very good. Breakfast was fresh and well cooked. Characterful dining room. Convenient for our purposes of walking the Yorkshire Wolds.

Negative: The bathroom sink was rather small. Sound insulation wasn't great.

Positive: It’s set in a beautiful area. The owners closed the bar at 7pm we asked if we could have a bottle of wine in the bar area and we turned the lights off for bed, we didn’t mind but no pubs or bar in the village a early Saturday night.

Negative: Booked this accommodation to stay and have evening meal and a drink. I had reserved to eat at 8pm. That morning they phoned to say the chef had walked out that day so no food. Looked at the reviews and this had happened a couple of days before. We couldn’t cancel as it was within 24 hrs. Had to eat early elsewhere no where to drink or eat near.
