Positive: The restaurant staff were fantastic. The food was excellent. When the breakfast took an age to arrive they were very polite, professional and apologetic.
Negative: What I dont like is getting ripped off. I booked a classic double room. The room (Its name was Art) we were given had no windows, was claustrophobic with a bathroom that was so small that I struggled to sit on the loo without my knees getting wedged against the opposite wall. Admittedly the shower was good and had lashings of hot water. Breakfast was a complete saga. The queue for the ridiculous conveyor belt toaster irritated everyone, especially as after filling it with bread and the nauseating wait it came out as.......bread. Perhaps they should take the self service principle one step further and have their guests cook their own eggs and sausages? The price for the room (I'd sooner call it a Farrow and Ball clad shed) was £245 for the night. Together with dinner, wine, breakfast and the £15.39 service charge that was automatically added to my bill, I ended up with the night costing me just shy of £450 for the two of us. At the end of the day this place is a noisy, albeit fun pub with some funky rooms, minute car park and an incredibly snotty attitude from the lady I raised these points with when checking out.
Summary: Overpriced and over rated.

Positive: Great hospitality, lovely staff, quirky pub and even quirkier room. Attentive staff at dinner, very charming check in and check out
Negative: They couldn't help the weather which was very hot which meant the rooms were very warm so it was always going to be difficult to sleep. We did wonder why, when so much attention to detail had been made for each room, that they had not considered air conditioning? The staff were lovely but we suspected a bit inexperienced. Pale ale was cloudy and clearly from the end of the barrel. Complaint accepted graciously and barrel changed but shouldn't have been served. Likewise at dinner, could not fault charm and attentiveness but could have advised better so that we didn't double up on food and flavours. Bin ends were on the wine list but unavailable That's the same everywhere at the moment and you did better than most. Did not put us off
Summary: Lovely quirky pub with great staff, food and drink, would thoroughly recommend
