Positive: The hotel has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere and looks beautiful at first glance. The swimming pool is very nice and well maintained, and the beach itself is stunning. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. The bungalows have a cozy terrace, and the location is quiet and peaceful. Pagoda Beach is about a 7-minute scooter ride from Long Set Pier, where you can find most restaurants and bars, making it ideal for travelers looking to relax away from the crowds.

Negative: We are backpackers and usually stay in simple accommodations, but for this stay we wanted a bit more luxury and were willing to pay more. Considering the price, some aspects could be improved. The room was quite small and the finishing was not always optimal, with gaps around the exterior door. The bed was very hard, and we experienced some neck and back discomfort. There were no hooks in the room for wet towels or swimwear, and the bathroom layout was slightly inconvenient. Warm water was limited at times, and the water pressure in the shower fluctuated. Housekeeping could also be more thorough, and fresh towels were not provided daily. Breakfast was basic, with specialty coffee at an extra charge. The beach is beautiful but could be cleaner. The $5 per person taxi from the pier felt unnecessary, especially since it can be arranged independently.

Positive: Mr. Chumnit (that is a real Manager) and his team (Vannsung) were absolutely top-notch. All our requests were fulfilled immediately; the hotel and the beach are truly something special. The restaurant staff always had a smile for us, and the room cleaning was always quick and flexible, sometimes even done upon request. That was Cambodian hospitality at its finest!

Positive: We stayed as a couple and booked a sea view room in the first row by the pool. The room was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed and offered a stunning view that we enjoyed every single day. The entire hotel complex was very clean, well organized and pleasantly calm. There were always enough sunbeds available at both the pool and the beach, and despite the number of guests, the atmosphere never felt crowded. The private beach area is shared with a few other hotels of similar standard, and it is perfect for relaxing walks along the shore. The breakfast buffet offered a balanced mix of local specialties and Western options, so there is something for every taste. The restaurant menu was equally diverse, and everything we tried tasted wonderful. The hotel also organizes a variety of daily activities. We joined the plankton tour and were able to experience the magical glow of bioluminescent plankton in a quiet bay after sunset, which was a truly unforgettable moment. On another day, we booked a driver through the hotel to explore the island. He took us to beautiful spots including the mangrove forest and several breathtaking beaches. For both tours, the hotel took care of everything and considered our personal wishes, which made the experiences even more special. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Chumnit and his team for giving us such a wonderful stay. We felt welcomed, cared for and very well looked after throughout our entire holiday. We would be happy to return.

Positive: The hotel was still being constructed and so we were offered a few benefits to offset the discomfort: 20% discount for the restaurant, free breakfast, and the option to use the facilities of the two neighboring resorts. This has made the stay very nice. We also much appreciated that the staff is keeping the beach clean from rubbish all the time which is crucial in Cambodia.

Negative: Without the benefits, the stay wouldn't have been as great. The beach of the resort is not as nice as the others. All guests spent their time in the next resort. Also, the water is really not very clean as the resort is facing the mainland. The base prices in the restaurant are very steep and the quality doesn't match them. We liked their burgers but the Khmer food really wasn't good. Fruit shakes for $5.5 in Cambodia are insane. The staff is doing their best but it seems they still need some training.
