Positive: This is a spacious house, generously proportioned, with several good inclusions for a large family stay e.g. the pool table, large TV and outside areas - the pool would be great in warmer months. Beds were comfortable.

Negative: While the house was fine, the hosts, "Airkeeper", left a bad taste by holding a child's small toy for ransom, wanting to charge $80 to post it when we could arrange to pick it up. It was particularly annoying given other shortcomings: we had to buy a plug for the bath; the coffee machine (if that's what it was) was a complete mystery, forcing us to spend plenty buying coffee in the morning; the vacuum cleaner had not been emptied; a half-finished can of drink had been left on a shelf. Most dramatically, the door handle mechanism on the children's bedroom was broken, locking them in the room with their parents on the night they arrived, late, from overseas. "Fixing" it involved my son having to climb in and out of a window and dismantling the handle and latch altogether. Given the failings, you might think the Airkeeper company might give us a break on posting the inexpensive little soft toy, but no. Two weeks later, there has been no response to our request. Fail.

Positive: The location was handy to the local shops but also the city. The beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. The outdoor spaces were generous and ideal for lounging and chilling with family and friends. The kitchen was a decent size and essentially had a good range of gear to be able to cook and host the amount of people staying in the house of 10+. The pool was clean and very nice.

Negative: For the amount of people in the house at 1 time, there probably wasn't enough indoor seating upstairs. The lounge to dining room was fragmented and only 2 people could lounge in the single chairs. There is ample room upstairs, if the room were more of a open plan with a couch added, that would create more of a family area for all to be upstairs and around the kitchen. Downstairs only had 1 couch also, so it wasnt really comfortable space for 10+ to he together, it was more a environment for people to split up and use the different areas separately while indoors. For a house that could host 10+ for multiple days, to maintain a clean house at all times, the kitchen could have done with some extra general supplies, there was only 1 tea towel, 1 dishwasher sachet, no dish washing detergent and other cleaning supplies etc.

Positive: Location was great. Close to the heart of Brisbane with cafes and shops nearby. Incredible views of the city.

Negative: The noise of the birds and traffic is terrible, especially in the mornings. Upon arrival we noticed the upstairs ensuite sink with pop up plug was stuck down, so we couldn’t use that sink from day one. The main bathroom sink upstairs was blocked and drained really slow so for a guest of 10 was a big inconvenience. All the bathrooms and showers needed a deep clean as there was signs of mould and stains on the shower glass. There was also an unpleasant smell in the upstairs ensuite coming from the drain. Couches were dirty, stained and the carpet in the upstairs bedroom was really dirty and stained. The property is in a great location and the house has such charming Queensland characteristics with all the amenities to accommodate our 2 families. Just the cleanliness of the above was a bit of a let down. Overall we had a enjoyable stay.
