Positive: Japanese room was perfect, service stellar, and food amazing. The staff was extremely kind and did everything to help us, even if English was not always easy for them - would definitely recommend for a super nice and authentic experience. Also very nice onsen!

Positive: The surrounding area was beautiful and serene! The property has everything you need and our room was well appointed. We were giving every toiletry imaginable and some very nice skincare products were available in our room and at the public onsens. The property had 3 restaurants from which we had our meals (which were amazing!!) and the lobby had free espresso in a beautiful area overlooking the river that runs directly next to the property. The food was fresh and we had locally caught fish and locally foraged mushrooms in a soup that was out of this world! The staff were very attentive and generous with their time and energy. Massage was offered onsite and the providers came to our room!

Positive: Exceptionally friendly staff, amazing food and the onsen experience was amazing. We also loved the surrounding mountains.

Negative: The place appears a bit old here and there and needs a bit of renovation in a few places.

Positive: The pure Japan experience! This is a location where the majority of the visitors are Japanese, which makes the stay most authentic. The Onsen are beautiful and dinners amazing. But, perhaps most important, the staff is extremely nice and helpful!

Negative: Actually all was fine; as an European, sleeping on a futon bed isn’t always that comfortable
