Positive: We absolutely loved our stay at Tama Hotel — it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we checked in, we were treated with the utmost care and kindness. This isn’t just a hotel, it’s an experience. The owner is incredible — thoughtful, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about creating a special stay for every guest. We were introduced to all 14 resident cats, each with their own personality, and even completed a little cat‑holding test before being allowed to cuddle one of the owner’s cats. It was such a fun, unique touch. There are so many thoughtful extras: free wine, beautiful body creams, bath salts, and cosy spaces to relax with the cats. In the evening we watched all 14 cats gather for feeding time, which was chaotic, adorable, and one of the highlights of our trip. The owner even drove us to the ferry for Cat Island, which made the whole day so easy and stress‑free. 100/10 service. We couldn’t recommend this place enough — it’s warm, quirky, memorable, and made with so much love. A perfect stay for any cat lover or anyone wanting a truly special experience in Ishinomaki.

Negative: Honestly, nothing. There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t enjoy — every part of our stay was exceptional.

Positive: The hospitality of Mino, the hotel manager. He was friendly, had a great sense of humor and let us feed and play with his cats. He made sure that we felt right at home. He was very nice and offered to drive us to the Tashirojima ferry station, though in the end we couldn't go due to bad weather. Our stay was fun We definitely intend to visit again!

Negative: Not the easiest to get to on foot from the train station.

Positive: The room was amazing, with 4 large beds, a massage chair, and a small kitchen with a table for four people. There is even a "cat hotel", with 14 cats, that you can feed at 7pm. And the manager was super super friendly, he drove us to the ferry to go to cat's island. Saiko desu !

Positive: Mino was the best host! He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. You can tell he loves what he does and is friends with everyone he meets.

Negative: There were some stains in the towels.

Positive: The owner was very accommodating and communicative. I enjoyed the area where we could hang out with the cats and all the amenities that were offered, including free laundry, wine, mangas to read in the cafe, robes, etc. The owner also drove us to our next destination and took the time to figure out plans with us. The hospitality was excellent and I wish we could have shown our appreciation more.

Positive: We loved everything about our stay at Tama Hotel. We came there in order to visit Tashirojima, Cat island. The hotel itself has a cat patio with many very cute and well-taken care of cats. Tama, Millefeuille, Maron, Noritama, Ansu, Cinnamon, Caramel, Suri, Noir, Tail, Kiwi, Marble, 2nd, Konosuke. Paradise for serious cat lovers and cat freaks. The place has cat themed decorations everywhere which we loved. The owners are incredibly kind and made everything to make our stay the best possible. We used translator apps for communication and it worked great. They gave us a lot of good advice for food and for the visits we could do in the Miyagi area. They kindly drove us to the ferry, helped us with the tickets and picked us up, drove us back to the train station when we left. Plus they cooked absolutely delicious breakfast and dinner for us. We felt very well taken care of. Unforgettable hospitality experience we can only highly recommend. Thank you Tama Hotel!

Positive: The hotel owner was very friendly and helpful. He got us flowers for the hotel room and he is taking care of 16 cats which is amazing. We decided to have breakfast and the food was extremely tasty and presentation was awesome. He drove us to the ferry to the cat Island and stopped by a bread shop to get us lunch! He waited for us to leave and was on time when we came back to drive us to the train station. We would highly HIGHLY recommend Tama Hotel!
