Positive: We had a brilliant stay here. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and provided us with so much useful information about the area. We loved the location - very convenient for walking to the Main Street in Tam Coc. We also rented bikes from the Homestay and easily cycled to Hang Mua, Trang An, Bich Dong Pagoda and Bird Valley. Breakfast was also delicious and could be eaten next to the lake. We definitely recommend!

Positive: I've been traveling in Southeast Asia for 2 months (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam) with 1 more month to go (Vietnam and Indonesia). I have booked many, many accommodations in advance of my trip. Ms. Phuong at Tam Coc Westlake Homestay stood out from the others at the outset for being very responsive and helpful. When I arrived at the homestay, she was even more so -- as well as kind, warm, friendly attentive. (By the end of my first day there, she had already remembered that I prefer my beverages not chilled/without ice.) I was in Hanoi and she had previously helped arrange my transportation to and from Ninh Binh. The car service ended up being a luxury van that was so comfortable -- much appreciated after a few flight delays and changes getting to Hanoi. At check-in, she gave me a cup of tea as we sat and talked about any sites and activities I was interested in for my 3-day stay in Ninh Binh. She tailors her suggestions to individual guests/groups based on the length of their visit so that they can make the most of their time there! I was so happy with her recommendations -- Tam Coc Boat Tour and explore Ninh Binh by foot for the afternoon/evening that I arrived, and then a day trip that covered 4 points -- Mua Caves (climb up to a viewpoint with breathtaking views), Trang An (boat tour, one of the locations for the filming of Kong: Skull Island), Hoa Lu (ancient capital), Bai Dinh Pagoda (one of the largest Buddhist temple complexes in Southeast Asia). Ms. Phuong also helped arrange the 4 points day trip, a small group tour with an excellent tour guide named Happy. Ninh Binh is a gorgeous, stunning backdrop. Combined with the hospitality of Ms. Phuong (and her husband and family who also help run the homestay), my time in Ninh Binh was exceptionally comfortable, stunning and safe. Facilities? Spotless. Breakfast? Absolutely delicious. Peaceful? Very much so. Thank you so much, Ms. Phuong, to you and your family! Hope to see you again!

Positive: One of the best places we have stayed in in Vietnam. Great value for money. Our room was huge, clean and very comfortable. They explained how we could move around the area and they even arranged the car for us to do so. I would 100% stay there again.

Positive: Lovely quiet location but equally close to everything. Very friendly and welcoming family who own and run the homestay. The cleanest homestay I had in Vietnam! Nice and quiet in the evenings. Excellent breakfast.

Negative: When asking about a taxi to the Tran An boat trip, I wish I had been told that Grab worked because looking online it seemed it didn't. I later found out it did, but the homestay had arranged a very expensive taxi, more than my bus trip to Siem Reap!
