Positive: This was by far one of my favorite hotel experiences of all my travels to date. The staff was warm, responsive and extremely accommodating. The food was some of the best we have eaten in Japan. The room was incredibly spacious, beautiful, and well-equipped with more amenities than we could use. The three-star designation is a thorough misnomer. This property is a work of art and our experience there is one we will never forget.

Positive: We have 2 children shared room with parents. Cost of 2 children equals 80% of room. We understood extra charge but if we knew it’s 80% we will book an extra room.

Positive: Absolutely beautiful… it exceeded our expectations in every way … once we found it ! Confusing geo location and no English signage (that we could see) but there had been record snow fall so perhaps it was buried ! Food was authentic and presented impeccably and service was excellent … on the expensive side but a memorable and special experience.

Negative: The lounge area had an overwhelming smell of burning fuel .. (kerosene or similar) from the heater & could not be used at all.

Summary: Authentic Japanese experienced in a beautiful Bally away from the usual western tourist locations
