Positive: The room was lovely and the property is an authentic grand house. You feel like you have gone back in time.

Negative: The fire alarm going off at 4.45am 6 times on the first night - and no real explanation or apology. A bucket full of rags was left in the corridor by our room collecting rain drops.

Lovely large room and bathroom, tons of natural daylight, felt more like a suite than a bedroom, glorious views, period features including opening sash windows. Very peaceful and relaxing stay, the whole place felt airy. Loved the spa facilities, gardens, games room, walks and birds of prey. Easy walk into the village, all very pleasant. Staff were great.

Negative: Plumbing not the best! Struggled to get a hot shower in the morning and toilet flush a bit dodgy! TV a bit small, but not major issues.

Summary: Delightful stay in period castle style hotel. Bedroom 'Suite' felt luxurious and spa exceptional!
