Summary: The interior of the apartment is as described and shown in photos. However, for our stay the pool was not open, the tennis court over grown, and the grass up to knee height. This had the effect of reducing the usable area of the 2.8 hectare property to the driveway and the apartment which was very disappointing to our group and difficult with small children. Most critically, there is no wifi and the property is in an area with no phone signal. The owner is very pleasant and we were able to enjoy our stay fine enough but I would say this is priced for the description not the reality.

Summary: Good: Beautiful and very quiet and peaceful location. Great for hikes and trail runs. Comfortable enough apartment on the grounds of a spectacular 15th c.Priory. Fab bbq’s and swimming in the little pool. Felt very safe and private. Host was very friendly and gave us the freedom of her lovely home. Less Good: - Depending on what you like this could be good: There is nothing at all within walking distance of the accom. You need to drive to Fleury (15 mins) for the supermarket or a restaurant. Nowhere for a coffee etc within 20 mins drive. - No aircon (it was broken) so it was very hot. We bought some fans to make it liveable. - Tennis court is 15 years past it’s best and isn’t really playable. - The kitchenette is very small but everything worked. - The pool was plagued by flies which were a bit of a nuisance. Overall this worked great for the 4 of us (2 adts and 2 kids) but not sure would be so comfy for a bigger group.

Summary: This is a truly unique place, a nicely converted barn (top level only) into 4 bedrooms with a common lounge/dining area and a small kitchen. The apartment also had 2 bathrooms but only one with a loo. We were 4 adults and 1 child and we felt just right in the space. The one loo was a little challenging but we made it work. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had most things you needed with a decent sized fridge/freezer. The grounds of the property are amazing and the owner said "make it your home" which meant we could explore as much as we wanted to. The pool is a little distance from the house with no fence or alarm. Its a lovely pool and we used it a few times during our stay (remember to bring your own pool towels) We also used the tennis courts (bring your own rackets and balls) We ate outside most evenings, our daughter really enjoyed the swings everyday especially in the evenings when it was less hot. We bbq'd most evenings as well, the owner has a portable charcoal bbq which was super easy to use and clean. In terms of Baulme La Roche itself there is nothing there not even a shop, so be prepared to drive to the closest Supermarket in Fleury sur Ouche (about 10 mins) Not to much of an issue as we were out and about most days. There is a great walking track up to the top of the "falaise" but you can also drive up there if you don't fancy walking....its a bit of a hike. We felt Baulme La Roche was a great place in terms of access to the motorway and Dijon itself. Beaune is only 45 mins drive away with a fantastic market every Saturday. There is a chateau in Malain on the hill top, open only on Sat and Sun 2pm to 6pm (paid entry) worth a visit and again you can drive up to the chateau if you don't fancy the walk. The owner is a lovely lady called Michelle, she was super helpful throughout our stay.

Summary: We stayed here in August 2018, meeting up with our friends from Canada and had an absolutely wonderful time. We loved the village and surrounding countryside. Great for walks and runs. The accommodation was lovely; perfect for 4 adults and 4 teenagers (although one toilet was a slight issue). The adjacent 16th century priory, where the owner, Mrs Tumson, lives is magnificent with its lovely Burgundian roof. The gardens and pool were an extra bonus. We had a bbq several nights, Mrs Tumson joining us on one night which we really enjoyed. Lovely chapel and dovecot in the grounds. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you Mrs Tumson.
