Summary: Wonderful onsen experience. They have curtesy bikes to make the most of the awesome path along the river. Rooms were musty but you get used to it, it’s fine for a short stay. Nice and spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Iya Valley is lovely, definitely get out to the bridges when they open. We had one to ourselves and only a couple of people at the twin bridges.

Summary: We picked this hotel for a Japanese experience at a hot springs. Which it delivers. So this is a bamboo mat, sleep on the floor on a thin mat type of place for the room we booked. Which is what we wanted for 1 night. Shower is outside with the hot tub. Great views across the river while soaking in the tub. The shower and tub had decent coverage for the rainy day we were there. The dinner is set, with some items that were, uhm, unique for us during our trip. We had lunch at an excellent soba place up river, and the breakfast buffet at the hotel. There isn't much close by so dining options are limited

Summary: Surroundings not very nice but the property is ok and the meals were also ok. The plus was the private onsen on the balcony.

Summary: The staff were very friendly and helpful. However the building is very old, dated facilities, dark, limited amenities and was overall poor value for money.

Summary: The rooms are quite outdated, but I go here for the onsen and beautiful view it offers of the green hills in the gorge area. Hearing the river is an extra bonus. The onsen area is well kept and been remodeled a bit. The rooms need work, but the important points- comfortable bed and good heating/AC unit are great.
