Summary: View of the mountain was great. The outdoor bath was nice. However I felt like the dinner and breakfast halls had rather harsh lighting. Also the room with the bath felt rather expensive considering the experience. If the dinner and breakfast hall could be a bit more cozy and relaxing I think it would go a long way.

Summary: Clean and spacious room. Nice view. Onsen a highlight. Lots of options for breakfast. Presentation of dinner was excellent/beautiful, however the fish was dry and the rice was at times mushy. My only real criticism was the unavoidable smell of cigarette smoke.

Summary: Old hotel with large room. Room needs updating. Excellent onsen. Dinner and breakfast very good. Recommend hotel meals, because we couldn't find any dining options in Oboke.

Summary: Wonderful onsen experience. They have curtesy bikes to make the most of the awesome path along the river. Rooms were musty but you get used to it, it’s fine for a short stay. Nice and spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Iya Valley is lovely, definitely get out to the bridges when they open. We had one to ourselves and only a couple of people at the twin bridges.

Summary: We picked this hotel for a Japanese experience at a hot springs. Which it delivers. So this is a bamboo mat, sleep on the floor on a thin mat type of place for the room we booked. Which is what we wanted for 1 night. Shower is outside with the hot tub. Great views across the river while soaking in the tub. The shower and tub had decent coverage for the rainy day we were there. The dinner is set, with some items that were, uhm, unique for us during our trip. We had lunch at an excellent soba place up river, and the breakfast buffet at the hotel. There isn't much close by so dining options are limited

Summary: Surroundings not very nice but the property is ok and the meals were also ok. The plus was the private onsen on the balcony.
