Positive: Lots of useful items available. Very clean. Natural wooden structure, natural soap, and detergent; nature; garden; kids toys; and overall amenities were in very good condition. The couple who own the property clearly take pride in looking after it. Much appreciated.

Negative: Nothing, except that a later check-out time option would have been helpful, as we could only check-in from and after 15:00.

Summary: Great place for anyone who wants to relax in nature with quick access to a nice beach and local restaurants.

Positive: This is a really cute cabin to rent if you want to do BBQ and go to the beach. There is a fire pit, BBQ area, great kitchen, and plenty of beds so you can bring a group. We especially enjoyed Irita beach, a short drive away, but there is another beach about 1km away for people who prefer to walk. I hope to visit again. The cabin is made of natural wood and has a cozy feeling. There are board games, a stereo, a nice shower, and laundry. Everything is set up nicely so you can enjoy your time in Shimoda. Plus the staff recommended the Aoki grocery store with the best food so we could make a nice meal.

Negative: Since it is a natural place there happen to be some insects. Personally, I don't mind, and most of the bugs are harmless, just larger. The hosts provide mosquito coils, nets, and some spray for the larger insects, so at least you are well prepared. This property may not be the right choice for those afraid of insects. But if you like nature and want to enjoy a camping feeling, don't be discouraged!

Positive: Very nice cottage and quiet environment by the forest. And we saw the fireflies at night time. You can also do the BBQ during your stay. And the owners are very friendly and nice to guests, providing very useful and detailed information to us.

Negative: It may be better if there are curtains for the front gate.
