Positive: Host was very welcoming the property was very clean and tidy and the bedroom and en-suite spotless and adequately furnished. The bus stop to Aerport, Valetta and other tourist attractions is 100 meters away

Negative: It is a residential area and there's a lot of building work going on around the property and the promenade and restaurants etc are about a 15-20 min walk away

Positive: The communication with the host was really good. The apartment (as well as my room) was super-duper clean. I felt really welcomed and the place itself was really cozy with home-vibes. There were a lot of products in the bathroom to use and the oppurtunity to enjoy a warm bath was great. There was a lot of effort put into the quality of the mattress which was just to my liking. Also many spaces to put my things, extra blanket (which I needed) in the closet. I enjoyed watching Prime on the TV in my room - really relaxed me in the evenings. My favourite part was when a little bird flew on the windowsill to greet me in the early morning :)

Negative: There was a small window in the room so don't expect to get a lot of sunlight or a great view. There was no flexibility about the check-in and check-out time which I don't get because of the owner seemed to be a home a lot (but I did get to leave my suitcase there earlier). My biggest issue (as it tends to be with a lot of accommodations) was the noise - as a person with very quiet lifestyle (and a light sleeper) I am an opposite to the host and there was so much inside noise from 6am, so a good night sleep (or a nap) isn't what I got there. Also, there were some heavy construction noises here and there, so all in all not a very peaceful place when it comes to sounds but if you're only there to sleep after an exhausting day outside, maybe it could work for you.

Positive: Location is always an important factor when choosing where to stay. I was looking for a quiet and safe neighbourhood with shops offering local products, and good access to the main attractions — and Sunlight House had all of these qualities. It’s located close to the beach, stunning cliffs, and a long promenade that leads to the charming centre of Marsaskala, full of restaurants, bars, and shops. The owner made sure the property was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. He is friendly, open, discreet, and very helpful. He also shares fascinating insights about local curiosities, Malta, and its history.

Positive: I was travelling for work and it was conveniently located for the work I had to do. The staff were very friendly and helpful with local recommendations and even helped me carry my luggage up and down the stairs. The room was clean, tidy and well equipped with everything I needed. I had a very positive experience

Negative: It is a shared property which was explained to me in advance, just note that you are sharing with the family that lives there, not other travellers. It was perfect for what I needed but I wouldn’t recommend it for couples on a romantic weekend.

Summary: It suited my needs for a one night work stay as a solo traveller
