Positive: The location was great and relatively quiet. The pool was nice and private. The included breakfast was really good and the options changed daily. The staff was friendly. The room had a comfortable bed, mini fridge, and a smart tv with cable. The coffee maker and espresso maker were a plus. The sitting area outside was also a nice touch.

Negative: The Wildflower room was more rustic than the pictures showed. While the room was clean, both the main living area and especially the bathroom had lots of flies throughout. We had to swat those during our first couple hours of checking in and periodically afterwards, which killed the vibe for us.

Summary: Good stay could have been great if not for the flies.

Positive: We took a side trip to Franconia from our week vacation in Portland, Maine as a nostalgia trip for us. We picked Sugar Hill Inn because we thought that was the same place we stayed when we were there over 40 years ago. Anyway, we had a wonderful one day stay, had a very friendly and enjoyable chat with Chris and his gf while having a glass of beer by the bar, had a delicious gourmet dinner in the inn's restaurant and had the best biscuit and gravy for breakfast. The entire inn was nicely and quaintly decorated and had an outside sitting area with a mountain view.

Negative: For older guests, going up to the 2nd floor was not easy.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay there.

Negative: Air conditioning took forever to cool room. No fan in bathroom, so you had to prop window open. Pool could have been cleaner.

Positive: The location is quiet, but close enough to town and restaurants. The Inn has modern and comfortable amenities and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. They accommodated a late check-in, left directions and the lights on for me. It couldn’t have been nicer.
