Welcome to Hayes Hideaway a unique mix of old and new.
This newly remodeled cottage has the ultimate chill, coastal vibe nestled up against towering Douglas firs, Madrone and oak trees. Our cottage is located in the beautiful San Geronimo Valley in Marin County, just west of Fairfax on the way to Point Reyes National Seashore. Perfect space for couples, individuals, small families(10 and older only please) or your out of town guests for special events. Please note: There are stairs going down to the cottage. Also, the tub is a step-in claw foot bathtub.
THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:
The driveway is a little steep and narrow but opens up at the bottom. Plenty of turn around but best for 2-3 cars or less.
There is a set of well lit stairs going from the parking area down to the cottage.
The cottage and beautiful courtyard is all one level.
There is a step-into claw foot bath tub with full shower head component. It’s always a good idea to conserve water in California. Although we have “please conserve water signage” up, you are welcome to enjoy the claw foot bathtub at anytime of the year.
Please enjoy the outdoor gas fireplace rather than the indoor wood burning stove during our fire season which is approximately May-October.

Summary: Hayes Hideaway has turned out to be one of the favorite homeshares I've stayed at (and I've been a homeshare client since the year ABB started). I loved the thoughtful touches all over the home, and I was impressed how there's lots of *both* practical amenities AND aesthetic intentionality. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The gas fire pit in the courtyard was relaxing to just sit and chill in front of. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook, plus the provided cheese crackers were superb. The bathroom had lotion, sunscreen, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and neatly folded towels. All the decorative touches throughout gave me all sorts of good ideas for my own home. Thank you for sharing Hayes Hideaway with us all!

Summary: We had such a good time at this house. The outdoor area is so well taken care of and is a wonderful place to hang out with friends. Seeing the family of deer roam around the property was absolutely wonderful and made for a great getaway from the city for the weekend.

Summary: As soon as we arrived at this beautiful house set in woodsy hills, we forgot that the lecture/class we had originally come to attend had been cancelled. Everything about the grounds and home are immaculately clean, and cared for. The beds and linens are heaven, and waking to see a deer and two spotted fauns walk across the courtyard confirmed that! The kitchen was so very nicely appointed we scraped our intention to eat out. It is supplied with high end seemingly new appliances. Perhaps it was the attention to decorating the rooms with the most tastefully unique and interesting pieces that delighted this writer the most. Absolutely whimsically great! Oh, and did I mention that we walked down the road to the "Farm Stand" and got fresh produce, nice cheese, a lovely wine and the Best Salmon for our dinner. Summary: We loved Ashley’s place! What a delight. Cozy, clean, warm and friendly with a surprise welcome, roaring fire, two bedrooms and extra sitting area. It was rainy so we didn’t use the outside space, which just means we will book again ;)! Definitely a place to hang your hat for a few days or a few weeks.

Summary: The cottage was a perfect spot for our family with two pre-teens. The property is tastefully furnished, the kitchen is fairly well-stocked (note there is no microwave or dishwasher). Everything was very clean, extra towels and blankets made for a cozy stay. A sweet little retreat just 30 minutes from the entrance to Point Reyes and convenient to downtown Fairfax.
