Summary: it was pretty cool. The unit is in what must have been a home at one time, converted. The bed was unusually comfortable (I've stayed at big $$ hotels where the bed killed my back), and I never saw a shower head with multiple small jets and blue LEDs. That's way cool. Otis is a town out in the woods of western MA, great for ice fishing in the winter, biking, walking in the woods, or just hanging out on the porch. Our stay was a respite in our usual dumb lives going at full tilt all the time. And that's what you want out of an VRBO place.

Summary: We booked this property without fully realizing where it was or how simple it was. We had to make some adaptations because we stayed for 4 days. Kevin was 100% accommodating and “supplied” us with all our additional needs. This property has access to a beautiful lake and I recommend it for a summer getaway.

Summary: The generous owners upgraded us from a studio to a one bedroom apartment! They were welcoming and friendly when we arrived. The apartment was immaculate and very affordable. We were close to Jacob’s Pillow and spent the next day in Great Barrington, a close by blueberry farm called Blue Heaven, and the Beckett Quarry. We stopped at Katie’s Market and takeout for a quiet evening in our cozy, comfy apartment!

Summary: My stay was wonderful, and I have high standards. The studio has its own entrance with mudroom area so you can close the doors and keep bugs out. There is sitting space outside that looked nice but I didn't spend time in. Ihave high standards for cleanliness, and tend to expect to do some cleaning when away from home, but happy to say my standards were met. This place is clean and comfortable! The shower head was strong enough to rinse my very long hair in a minute, and there is a small refrigerator, Keurig with coffees, working microwave, and plenty of cabinetry. The internet worked great, as well, if that's of interest. The location is perfect, right near tons of hiking trails, lakes, a state park with camping, and at night you can see stars. There is plenty of parking and the spot is very quiet for sleeping. Comfy bed, I tend to be quite picky with this, as well, but I slept very well. The room has plenty of spots to sit, a vanity for make up as needed, and plenty of space in the bathroom cabinet for storing personal items. Cleaning supplies left behind if needed for use and soap/towels/shampoo as indicated. Host communication is 5 stars. I had a location question that was answered within a couple of hours on a Friday night! I'm typically hard to please, but I had no issues finding the place, getting in and getting the key, and having a wonderful weekend getaway without issue. That's all we want in a stay away. Tip for those getting lost: It does sound like you might be "walking" to the rear of...a hallway? to find the spot, but you actually drive around. Follow the driveway indications and pull your vehicle to the rear of the building. From there the instructions are perfect. Overall, top stay. I hope to stay again if the feeling is mutual. Summary: There are not many choices to stay near Otis which makes this place ideal. Parking right in front of room entrance. All the amenities, clean and an interesting shower head with temperature indicator lights. Nothing is fancy here, it met our expectations and served us well while attending a family reunion on the lake.

Summary: This aint the Hilton. It's an older property, and the blemishes are visible. But whoever's running it is keeping it very decent and welcoming, so we enjoyed clean & comfortable room, bedding, linens, bath, etc., and slept well. Electric baseboard heater worked (for early fall cool overnight), as did electric heater in bath. Looked as though room AC would work if needed. Shower had a nice color-coded temp. gauge. The small TV had more possibilities than one would expect - apparently on-site caretaker was allowing guests to share Netflix and such. Wi-Fi worked. One small problem: We pre-arranged to check in late, and host didn't give quite enough info. to find our way to our lodging, such that we couldn't find the needed signpost upon arrival, plus rural venue left us no possibility of phoning host (neither Verizon nor MetroPCS worked there). Fortunately, host was on site (which we didn't know in advance), and was very pleasant and easy. But we did have a panic until we located host. Just need a little clearer communication to avoid this sort of thing. In sum, if you're looking for luxury lodging, you'll find this ramshackle; if you're looking for *decent* in this location, you'll be O.K. here.

Summary: Our stay a t this property met our needs. We were visiting at my son’s nearby cottage on Otis Reservoir and just needed a place to sleep. The room is somewhat dated, but it was very clean. The property appears a little rundown, but it was really fine for what we needed. Kevin was very responsive in communicating by email and check-in and out was simple.. It is not a luxury property but we would stay there again.
