Positive: The location was quiet and pretty. The garden was big and nice to relax in.
Negative: The property was not clean enough. The compost kitchen bin was full of a previous guests waste so we had to dispose of it upon arrival. The bathroom radiators were very dirty. The sofas had large stains and marks all over them and were just dirty which made them off putting to sit on. The toilet in the downstairs bedroom was very dirty around the outside with yellow dried stains. The rug in the downstairs bedroom was a trip hazard. The stairs were frayed and the carpet grips were sharp as my brother’s girlfriend stood on them going into her bedroom a few times. For the money we paid and just generally the accommodation was not clean enough and although we are not normally one to leave bad reviews it did disappoint us. The upstairs double bed in the 3 person room was extremely low and the bed was uncomfortably soft. It felt like a deflated air bed and would not be suitable for many adults to sleep on. My brother and his girlfriend had a very bad few nights sleep. The only toilet door that had a lock was the ensuite so this made it awkward having to announce when we were showering and using the toilet so that no one walked in on anyone.
Summary: Would not stay again due to cleanliness and the price felt very high for the quality condition of the furniture.

Positive: The property was located in a quiet and peaceful area
Negative: The property needed updating and modernising. Even though I had mentioned before coming that two of us were disabled, the property was not catered for anyone with a disability. When we arrived after 2 1/2 hour drive, the cottage had not been cleaned and beds had not been changed. I ended up having to Hoover the room I slept in as it was dirty and had endless cobwebs on the walls which were visible. There were a few hazards for example, the bottom of the stair carpet was frayed which meant you could catch your foot easily. There were plugs sockets with tape hanging off , the two settees were filthy, dirty. There was a small fire extinguisher in a cupboard in one of the bedrooms which wasn't obvious and there was no first aid box. Photos of the property on the website were completely different to the property we were given, which was it misleading, it also stated that a barbecue would be available which there wasn't and also a swimming pool nearby which guests could use, the swimming pool wasn't nearby and guests had to pay to use it. The shower in the downstairs bedroom, was difficult to operate as the handles were difficult to turn. When we did get it working, the water came out scolding hot. My friend went and fetched the owner for help which he came and did but said he couldn't stop and was in a rush as he was going to play cricket – good job we didn't have any more issues. The photograph of my foot is where I caught my heel on the damaged stair carpet and went over on my ankle, resulting in a trip to A&E

Positive: Very comfortable and warm, it is situated in a lovely quiet location and easy to access all local amenities and attractions. The bedrooms were superb and well equipped and the kitchen had everything we needed to enable us to cook our Christmas dinner. Even though we didn’t use the outdoor space, the gardens were lovely and I can imagine that they would be lovely to sit in during summer.
Negative: Nothing! Possibly the only helpful thing would be to leave the welcome information on the kitchen table as you enter as we struggled to locate them and had to disturb the owners.
Summary: Perfect for our family festive break.

Positive: It was very clean & had everything we needed
Negative: Better signposting would have been appreciated… maybe at the turning before the ford as some of our sat nav’s took us via the ford, which was too late but had to keep going until we found an appropriate place to turn, then we met a tractor convoy from both directions which made it difficult to reverse as one of the group was in a van.

Positive: The cottage is situated in a really beautiful area.It was peaceful and super clean! loads of parking. It's hard to believe how close it is to shrewsbury, when stoney moat is so off the beaten track. I would definitely stay again.
Negative: only minor issue was the downstairs bedroom light didn't work, or would go on and 2 seconds later turn off. Then on the last night there was no hot water. it didn't effect our stay at all.
Summary: Beautiful country hideaway cottage
