Summary: We had a lovely stay at the Stone Maiden Inn. It’s in a great location, within easy walking distance of downtown Stratford and the Festival theatres, so we hardly needed the car. The staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful, and the inn itself was charming and comfortable. We’d happily stay here again.

Summary: If you’d like to step back in time but still enjoy modern day amenities, this is the place for you. This establishment has been operating as an Inn since 1905! The proprietor, Tim is warm and welcoming; your accommodation is walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had a super time and we’ll be back.

Summary: One of the hottest summer days and the AC kept us cool, even in attic floors. Beds very comfy, very clean. Recommend to serve pastries as advertised with the morning coffee to welcome your guests to a new day. On site fridge and freezer a bonus for road travellers needing to keep things cool. Would recommend particularly for those who don’t mind a walk of five minutes or so to all shops and restaurants on the main strip, very close to the river, but a further trek to Festival theatre than anticipated 20-25 minute walk at a slow pace…very doable and very nice after dinner for a Avon river walk to the show. Great host kind, funny and helpful!

Summary: Warmly greeted by staff. Our room was the top floor room. It was tired and could use some repair but clean and quiet. Coffee was provided in the morning. Parking ample

Summary: While the Inn itself was quite charming, there were hiccups. We are two women travelling together on a theatre trip, who reserved and paid for two separate rooms a month in advance. We were on a tight schedule (we arrived after matinee of a play, with just enough time to check in, dump our bags, freshen up and head for our early dinner reservations before taking in an evening performance). When we arrived, we discovered someone else in one of the rooms we had reserved. What followed was disconcertingly like a French farce, as two other women had the same problem.

Summary: Good accommodation. But in the tea/coffee area, both the milk and cream turned bad. There's also no hot water for the tea. Bummer.

Summary: My friends and I very much enjoyed our stay at Stone Maiden Inn. Our rooms were charming and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our hosts were most gracious, helpful and made us feel so welcomed. It’s in a great location as the theatres and restaurants are within walking distance.

Summary: Our group had a wonderful stay at Stone Maiden Inn mid-June. The owner, Tim, was onsite at 4pm for check-in and was also down the next morning around 8:30 to ensure morning coffee and tea was fine for all his guests. We arrived shortly after 4 and Tim greeted us personally, since Donna was showing other guests to their room and giving them a tour of the property. He also noted that we were 2 couples travelling together and showed us a nice little sunroom, off the billiards room where we could get together. He also mentioned that there were sitting areas on the property. He told us about the 24-hour coffee and tea station upstairs as well as the community fridge. There is a Keurig machine as well as a hot and cold water machine for tea with cream and milk in the fridge. We had the Romeo & Juliet room, which was lovely. It had a comfortable king-sized bed with a canopy, lovely marble-topped dresser and end tables, a small sitting area, a closet with fluffy robes, a small bathroom with a shower and a large 2-person soaker tub. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower and liquid hand soap at the sink - we usually bring our own toiletries, so only used the hand soap. The room also has a ceiling fan, as well as a window air conditioner with remote, so we were quite comfortable. Even though we stayed on a Friday night, and our room was closer to one of Stratford's main streets, we did not hear any noise from traffic. We would stay here again.

Summary: Tastefully decorated well preserved historical property with unique charm and atmosphere. Super high ceilings, antique furiniture, beds with canopies, rooms with private bathrooms, coffee and tea all day long, fridge in the common area, everything needed for a pleasant stay. Quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to the city center, Shakespeare Gardens and river boardwalk. Very responsive and approachable hosts living in the same property. All in all, wonderful theatrical gateway. We plan to be back one day.
