Positive: Amazing villa in the hills near Askifou, ideally placed to get to the beaches on the South Coast of the Island and also near to European hiking trails in the mountains. Village of Askifou had lots of really nice restaurants - the taxi driver from Chania airport mentioned this as we arrived and he was right. Great views from the villa of the valley and not a lot of other tourists about in this area so felt like a more authentic experience. Despina the host was very quick to respond to any issues and helpful with suggestions on what areas/beaches to visit.

Negative: Relatively small thing that I mentioned to the landlord directly about a handful of photos that need to be updated. I’m sure she will take care of it.

Positive: I liked that the house was spacious and beautifully designed with "antiques". The house itself was very clean and the kitchen well furnished. It's a beautiful house. I loved having access to Netflix!

Negative: It is very difficult to park near the house. While it has a "designated" area in front, cars from the next house made it impossible to park in it. You need to park in the lower village and walk up a very high hill to get to the house. Also, the "dipping" pool had not been cleaned in a while. It was cloudy so we did not use it.

Summary: A nice area to escape from the crowds...!
