Hotel in Vera, Tbilisi

Set in the former publishing house of Tbilisi, Stamba Hotel – lauded as a flawless fusion of vintage and contemporary, is a living, breathing reflection of the city’s growing global significance. Featuring uniquely designed and generously sized guestrooms, the hotel allures visitors at once. Yet there’s more to it: cloud-like beds, personal McIntosh brand hi-fi systems, La Marzocco coffee machines, gilded free-standing brass bathtubs and showers, mini-bars, and flat-screen TVs. The bathrooms come with slippers and hairdryers. The sights vary as the large windows of each room overlook the different parts of the hotel’s premises, counting the five-story-high atrium and several gardens. On the ground floor, there is Café Stamba - enchanting visitors with quintessential sentiments and style of the previous century and offering a great gastronomic experience: gourmet cuisine prepared with fresh and locally sourced products, signature cocktails crafted and served at the American-aesthetic pink bar, and the outstanding Stamba Chocolaterie – with its artisan chocolate and coffee. Additionally, the hotel provides room service and breakfast in the room upon request. Many of Georgia’s historical and cultural sites, including the Georgian National Museum, the Opera & Ballet Theater, and the Parliament, are within walking distance.

Positive: Beautiful adaptive reuse of a former USSR building into a stunning hotel. Rooms are large and beautiful. Room service and room cleaners are lovely. The courtyard and the common area are huge. Overall a stunning hotel in terms of design. High quality. BUT management, restaurant and bars are oriented and designed for loud parties. Staff comes with an attitude, if you're not under 30 and a hipster.
Negative: I was highly disappointed, as for a luxury hotel, the main target audience if the hipster young crowd only. Meaning restaurant and bars are super loud (and partying in the courtyard until late), meaning it's impossible to have a nice quiet or romantic dinner, meaning it's impossible to get a coffee before 9 am... In a few words, do not stay there if you're over 30 and not in the hotel to party!!!!! Other detail: the shower (stunning design!) gets the whole bathroom flooded every single time. we had to lay out towels everywhere as it was super slippery.
Summary: Beautiful former USSR building, transformed into a hipster hub. Loud partying scene.
