Positive: Absolutely lovely house. Nicely decorated, extremely clean and super comfortable. Had all the conveniences needed for a great stay and the bed was super comfy. There was also two big TVs in the living room and bedroom. We stayed for a concert in Halifax and was just a short taxi ride into the town (bus stop also across the road). Parking right outside. Couple of pubs and restaurants nearby. 100% would recommend.

Negative: No blackout curtains in the bedroom,the floor is lower when you walk into the living room. Just have to be a bit careful not a criticism, as every thing else was perfect would stay again highly recommend,thank you Mr G Johnson.

Positive: We were staying in Halifax for an event at ther Piece Hall. The house is on a convenient bus route, so we left our car parked at the property. It felt very safe. The property has been renovated and decorated to the highest standard. The host has provided everything you might need, from toiletries to teabags.

Whether you’re booking for a night or a month, this place offers everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The accommodation is beautifully maintained, stylishly furnished, and incredibly cosy. The king-sized bed was a dream to sleep in, and the overall space was perfect for unwinding after a day out. It’s ideal for professionals needing a quiet work-friendly environment or for anyone visiting Halifax’s many local attractions. Eureka, The Piece Hall (especially for gigs!), and the festive Christmas Markets are just a short 5-minute taxi ride away. Plus, there are so many things to do just a few minutes’ walk from the door—perfect for those who love exploring on foot. The warmth of hospitality here is second to none. It felt more like staying in a boutique guest house than a rental property. I’ll definitely be returning—St Matthew’s View is a real find! They honestly couldn’t do enough for us.

Positive: A beautiful cozy "bijou" little house: downstairs open plan sitting room/kitchen; upstairs spacious bedroom incl. very handy storage space & hangers and a compact but practical bathroom. All spotlessly clean and newly renovated. Stylish decor and quality fittings and kitchen equipment. Quality bedding and toiletries. Excellent TV & WiFi. Complimentary coffee/tea/milk/ oil + pepper & salt starter packs much appreciated. Small supermarket nearby, an easy walk away. Convenient street parking just in front of the property. Excellent and prompt communications with the owner.

Negative: It may be useful to have a summer duvet option available at this time of year. Location just outside Halifax worked well for us but disappointed to discover the house is on an extremely busy main road. The constant noise of passing traffic - lots of lorries! got quite wearing and meant windows could not be left open for fresh air. Luckily the traffic did settle a little overnight.
