This property is a must for lovers of wild natural beauty, tranquility and wildlife. Built over 3 floors and set in its own pretty walled garden, this apartment has comanding 360 degree views over the ocean, river and mountains. Whales, seals, penguins, turtles and mantas may be seen from its ocean terraces and owls and other birds of prey visit the gardens daily - whilst at the back the kingfishers, cormorants and herons fish in the river.
The property is ideal for a romantic break such as a honeymoon - or even a party group (as is secluded and on the beach) - but mostly for those who love nature.
Perhaps the most beautiful feature is the top 90 sq m terrace with 360 degree views with its own kitchen, bathroom and barbecue oven. At night you can see the Milky Way falling into the ocean.
The master bedroom and a very large lounge open onto ocean facing terraces.
The ground floor has an additional large en suite poolside double bedroom.
All the bedrooms have ceiling fans and air conditioning and plenty of storage space
The property is enclosed and secluded within its own high walls - up to 3 vehicles may be brought inside. We have a new pool - 7m x 3.5m and it is from 1m to 2m in depth. The pool is AYOR please be very careful after drinking or with children. There is a bar area next to the pool with a fridge, sink and portable BBQ unit - so you can choose an ocean terrace or poolside BBQ!
The gardens around the pool are attractive and well established and attract a lot of bird life
We love animals and have 3 rescue dogs and 1 rescue cat, all are friendly and all live outside on the property
The dogs are called Stormie (male,white), Naomi (short hair female,black) and Darty (long hair male black) They love to be taken for long walks along the canal or sea.
The cat is Uhtred (tortoiseshell)
We have a caseiro or caretaker, his name is Leo - he visits the house daily - He looks after the animals, the garden and swimming pool.
Either ourselves or Leo will welcome you and show you around the property.
The village of Recanto de Itaipuacu is charming in the Brazilian style with a number of restaurants, bars and buses to Rio.

Summary: Amazing stay! Edu and the staff were incredible all throughout the process (and even after). A little piece of socialist heaven with a great swimming pool, lovely bedroom and the sweetest cats and dogs you can ever spend new years with. Already planning our next stay.

Summary: Our stay here was amazing, we enjoyed the beach, spent a day in Rio adventuring and the rest of the time at the house enjoying the beautiful place. We at at the beach a few times, but went to the supermarket and bbq on the top deck with an awesome view. The place was clean and the host was very good to us. A MUST STAY!!

Summary: This is a place that I will remember forever, the sea breeze most every day,the sound of the waves. Carlos , stayed over to greet us and show us property, introduce us to Eden the care taker.With out him life could been so hard,he is an Uber driver and for reasonable cost is willing to drive you most any place.

Summary: This place is as advertised, taxi ride from Rio about 1 hr, pickup was prompt. Beach is basically deserted, the only thing is you probably shouldn't swim directly in front of the house w/ the massive undertow, but there is a life guarded, calmer area a short stroll down the way. The supermarket is limited but the butcher will trim you a nice picanha and makes GREAT sausages.- I highly recommend using the rooftop grill. Town has more than several bars/restaurants..... they do seem to close and open whenever they feel like though. There IS an express bus to downtown Rio- going to downtown Rio from here is more than plausible but we couldn't bring ourselves to leave this bucolic space. This was an ideal couple's retreat and a chance to catch our breath during a fabulous two week Brazilian vacation. I imagine it would be great for a family as well. Pool was larger than we expected! Would love to go back!

Summary: First I'd like to thank Philip and Eduardo for being so helpful throughout my stay. They provided me with all the information and help I needed before, during and at the end of my trip to Brazil. The beach villa is located in Recanto, Itaipuacu which is an hour or so, depending on traffic from Rio de Janeiro city. It can be reached by bus directly from Rio, which lets you off directly down the road from the villa. You can also rent a car or take a taxi. Philip and Eduardo are also able to arrange for a driver if needed for both trips to and from the villa or a driver for the day. The villa is nice, nice, nice. The pictures on the site don't do it justice. The beach is literally at your front door. The villa has all the essentials. It also has Wifi, TV, and they have a good selection of dvds. None of which I actually used because I spent a majority of my time outside. There are bars and restaurants down the road as well as a market, less than 5 minute walking distance. The area is safe, even at night. Views are great too. You can even take the bus down the road or take a van to the terminal for more options and go to Rio and site see or shop and be back in enough time to enjoy the rest of your day at the villa. I really enjoyed my stay there and would definitely stay there again. If you want to relax and have a great view while being on a clean, safe beach, this is definitely the place. Again, thank you Philip and Eduardo for allowing me to stay at your home, I had a wonderful time!!! Great experience!!! I definitely recommend staying at Philip and Eduardo's home.
