Country River Retreat is a refurbished home overlooking the spectacular river Murray and Lake Carlet.
Our country river retreat sits on 150 acres of land surrounded by sweeping farmland crops.
Our choice is the reestablishment of native trees coupled with fruit, nut trees and a vegie garden promoting well being.
The home is artistically quirky, filled with many creature comforts making it enjoyable throughout the year.
The fireplace is a true delight in the colder months.
The Concert grand piano sets the scene for the artistic minds whether your gathering is here for simple rest and recreation or group art painting, group book readings, Yoga, meditation to music rehearsal.
Not forgetting the Celestial enthusiasts as one would feel like they are in the middle of the universe. This area is noted by astronomers to be one of the darkest places on the planet, being ideal for stargazing.
The outer spaces of the home holds many entertainment nooks including a decked barbeque space overlooking the lake and river.

A all welcome shed with pool table, dart board, fridge is shared with the upper cabin retreat in which we manage.
To help cater we have a second outside kitchen prep space with fridge.
The home is not a riverfront establishment, however we we feel it is far more special with room to move. We sit only meters from the waters edge with bonus space available on the waters edge which is gated, as we share this special pace with our farming neighbor. Slipping our neighbor a beer wont go astray for his welcome patronage if using this space. Also having the luxury of domestic power on the rivers edge.
This holiday retreat is in the town of Young husband only 15 minutes from Historic Mannum.
Only 5 minutes from the retreat is a large council boat ramp with services.
Without exception truly an eyeopener for those that want to engage in river sports or simple kayaking in the lake itself.

Summary: We really enjoyed the stay in the beautiful house with friends. Everything in the house was amazing, specially the backyard and spa areas with the jacuzzi and those beautiful views. Alec was very kind with us all the time, we really appreciate that!!

Summary: A Large property with a comfortable 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home, with a panoramic view to the river. There is a large undercover veranda which is a great place to sit and take it all in. The large spa pool was a big hit with the children, and the coffee machine was essential to the adults. Access to the river was about 1km away where we launched our runabout boat. In the evening we enjoyed dinner in the Gazebo followed by warmth by the fire in the fire pit nearby. We enjoyed our family getaway at this property.

Summary: Wonderful staycation with Beautiful countryside view, Enjoyed a good time together with three families, Modern and spacious property with the views that take our breath away, Had all the amenities we were looking for apart from Wifi. which wasn't available the time we stayed. Owner Alec was friendly and nice, Facilities well kept. Highly recommended!

Summary: This is a great place to relax. And enjoy the peace of the river and lake. The stunning view of the water and the shifting shadows over the ridge during the day, is really quite fascinating to watch. Better than T.V. Then the brilliant night sky is truly awe inspiring. You could feel it doing you so much good. And was particularly beautiful when the moon rose and shimmered and shon while reflecting over the water. It felt great having a spa/lap pool under under the stars. A wonderful place to unwind particularly from city life. Oh yeah beautiful fresh air and when it rained the air really smelt so very sweet. And just so nice to be able to really relax and enjoying life. While sitting out on a lovely quiet country verandah. Or from the inside looking out depending on weather. All this seemed to help you to sleep extra well. It was all good but that was just the best bit for me. An inspiring place to be.

Summary: Well appointed premises with something for everyone day and night. We loved the fire pit, pool table, darts, grand piano, easy kitchen, gazebo for hanging out, verandah overlooking the River Murray on a horizon spanning vast distances to fiery sunrises and awe inspiring night skies.
