Brinnon House | Spectacular Hood Canal Views/Olympic National Park/Brinnon Waterfront House

4 Bedroom House in Brinnon

(Free 2 kayaks to use/ Fast WIFI included/Strict 6 guests limit)-The house is a cozy older waterfront home on Hood Canal awaits your visit. You will be blown away by the view you'll see of the beautiful canal through floor to ceiling windows when you walk in the front door and look past the kitchen to the living room and the water beyond. You can enjoy watching eagles during spring and summer fly by or sea lions and seals and an occasional whale frolic in the water. Or perhaps you’d rather set out to scuba dive for octopus just 150 yards from the house. At the end of your day, grab some marshmallows and roast them in our fire pit, just a few feet from the edge of the water and also enjoying a beautiful sunset while cozying up to the fire.
The kitchen includes a breakfast bar and dining area. It opens into the dining room and living room where you will enjoy the incredible view of the water. Take in water view while sitting out on one of the two oversized decks at night looking at the full moon’s reflection on the water is a great way to relax at the end of your day.
The living room has an insert fireplace and space for family gatherings and activities. Downstairs in the first floor is a ping pong table, air hockey, 2 person shooting basketball game, Gamecube, and kids can have their own space for games, and treasures you find on the beach.
Our kitchen is stocked and our dining area with a table that seats six, or enjoy eating outside on
one of our two decks while enjoying the view.
If you prefer to not cook, The Halfway House nearby is famous for excellent home cooking and homemade pies. Esquire magazine in the past has chose the nearby Geoduck Restaurant and Tavern #2 for “Best Bar in America,” and Pleasant Harbor Marina, just up the road, offers superb pizza and sandwiches.
The home offers four bedrooms, two upstairs and one on the main floor, and two full baths. One bedroom has a Queen-sized bed with night tables, a dresser and closet. Another has two bunk beds and a closet, the third has a queen bed and armoire, the fourth bedroom has a full size bed.
Bring your fishing poles and check out the many rivers that flow into Hood Canal.
Nearby Dosewallips State Park, with acres of clams and oysters and geoduck, is also a great place to beach comb at low tide. Brinnon is a hiker’s paradise and there are spectacular trails and breathtaking waterfalls in Brinnon or in the nearby Olympic National Park. Or check out the great mountain biking trails. Divers can see several species of rockfish, octopus and all sorts of crabs in one of the best diving locations in the Northwest, and diving gear can be rented close by. A little further down the road is Mount Walker. A short drive up the mountain at the scenic view area, you will be blown away by the spectacular views of the Olympic Mountain range and turn your head back east and see the City of Seattle skyline. According to our guests, our house on the edge of the Olympic National Park is an ideal location as a base for their adventures to explore the park. Olympic National Park covers 922,651 acres of three distinct habitat zones, the alpine region, the coastline and the temperate rain forest. At 1,441 square miles, the park is larger than Rhode Island(1,214 square miles). In 1976, the park was named an International Biosphere Reserve by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, the park was made a World Heritage Site by the World Heritage Convention.

Summary: Stayed here for 3 nights and had a blast. Wildlife and canal access were as promised and did not disappoint. Spent the weekend clamming and harvesting oysters all of which were very close to the house.

Summary: Our family had a great time staying at this house. It has a large common area that we used to play games, put together a puzzle, and watch movies. The basement had amazing entertainment options for our kids, including an air hockey table, a ping pong table, an arcade console with multiple games (Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, etc.), and a mini basketball game. The house has a couple of decks that were fun for watching wildlife or looking at the view. We enjoy birding and saw eagles, herons, loons, mergansers, and a pair of harlequin ducks! There is a path that leads to the beach which had clams spitting water at low tide, and some cool tide pools. We also saw seals and harbor porpoises. When cars and trucks aren’t going by, it is really quiet (32 decibels) and still. Hearing the birds sing when there were no cars was incredible and relaxing. The location is great, just up the road from Hama Hama, and Hoodsport isn’t too far away. We also visited Hunter Farms for some Olympic Mountain ice cream. The mattress in the first bedroom was on the softer side, so if you want a firmer mattress, the two couches in the living room easily fold out and have better support. The bunk bed upstairs doesn’t have much room between the bottom and upper bunk, so older kids may not want to sleep on the bottom bunk. The kitchen has some utensils, pots, and pans, but we recommend bringing your own.The hosts were great! They were friendly and responded quickly.

Summary: Beautiful, serene, location and property! Host does a wonderful job communicating and offered us options for dining/groceries/activities. Check-in and check-out were super easy, which we appreciate, and there are plenty of options for things to do or just relax and enjoy the beautiful view! Property is very clean, stocked with basics, close to road but super quiet and all you hear is the waves lapping on the shore.

Summary: The owner or property manager reached out to us to make certain everything was well set up. The directions and instructions were very clear. Two small hitches showed up. The sliding glass door latch would not hold. I fixed it easily by breaking a stick from the yard and positioning it on the sliding mechanism. The other was that the exhaust fans in the ceilings of the washrooms are badly in need of cleaning. I'm sure they will take care of that immediately upon reading this. We did not contact them regarding it because it was not an emergency. Also the lighting in the laundry room is inadequate and the switch hard to locate. I recommend the property for families who want to visit the peninsula.

Summary: LOVED the provided kayaks and access to water...we brought paddle boards and had a great time with seals, porpoises, herons! Upper deck fantastic for eating outside, enjoying morning and evening skies. Beds/baths worked for 3 couples, enjoyed ping pong table/game room and family games around dining table. Kitchen was perfect for dinner in. Recommend!

Summary: The views are absolutely breathtaking.
Nick Y. Jul 27, 2024 05:46:20 AM
Summary: Great place to stay right on hood canal has everything you need to keep the kids busy and entertained. Interior a bit dated but everything was clean and can’t beat the views and convenient location.
