4 Bedroom Villa in Oria

Villa Azzurra is a renovated but modern property. It sleeps 8 persons in 4 bedrooms and up to 2 more people on 1 kingsize sofa bed or 2 small folding beds. The villa is 250 sq. meters in size and has a very airy spacious feel. The independent villa is set in a lovely walled garden on an acre of land. It is approached through electric gates with audio screening inside the villa. It is situated about 3kms from the delightful medieval town of Oria and very close to the Sanctuary of San Cosimo, both can be seen clearly from the villa. Al fresco living is really the Pugliese way of life especially in the summer months. The villa has a large covered verandah to the front with plenty of seating and dining facilities. There is a further terrace a couple of steps down from the pool terrace adjacent to one of the olive groves. On this terrace there is a very large wooden gazebo 7mtrs x 5mtrs. This provides shelter for numerous very comfortable lounging areas, another dining area and an outdoor kitchen. There is a wood burning pizza oven and an open barbecue along with a marble surfaced preparation area and sink. All this area is well lit for cooking and eating under the stars. The very large saline pool is 13x5 meters and entered from the Roman steps, which are also great for sitting/lying on. The depth is 1mtr 40cms throughout, perfect for a decent swim and teaching your children to swim. There are 10 sun beds with extra -soft cushions; these are dotted around the paved patio surrounding the pool. There are also 7 turquoise sun beds, which can be taken to the beach or used as extras for guests. The pool and surrounding area can be lit for evening swimming. Close to the pool there is an outdoor shower, which can also be used when returning from the beach as well as a full 4th bathroom in the outhouse. At night the pool area provides a fabulous spot to enjoy a Prosecco or local Primitivo - pre or post dinner -whilst watching the spectacular sunsets!

Summary: Wonderful weeks stay in a truly peaceful setting. The villa has everything needed and more. Very grateful to Gaynor, Mike and Vittorio as despite a very delayed flight we were still able to check in. Communication throughout was perfect. I would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful towns around Oria and visit the Ionian coastline.

Summary: Me and my family have just got back from Villa Azzurra. We were visiting Lecce for a wedding at Castello Monaci about half an hour away. We would definitly recommend this holiday home to any family wanting to visit the area. It was beautifully clean, spacious and had everything we needed.

Summary: The villa is larger than it looks, and because the owner lives there part of the year it is well-appointed and in great shape. Mike, the point man, is excellent, helpful and quick to assist with any problems. Pool is salt water. BBQ, wood burning pizza oven, nice outdoor spaces, good WiFi. Nothing bizarre to relay to potential renters. Travel is slow in that part of Italy, but in about 25 minutes you reach the most beautiful beaches in the country, unpolluted by giant hotels. Additionally, this is quite an inexpensive part of the country. Dinner at the nearby Tre Archi was about 100 Euros with wine for eight people! There is an excellent wine coop with tasting in Manduria about 15 minutes away, with free tastings and inexpensive local wines.

Summary: Fairly easy to find, shops are nearby (we did everything by car), spacious villa, with very good equipment. Patio is fantastic. We did not have a great weather to enjoy the pizza oven and the barbecue, but I recommend ! Great place to relax, and easy to travel from and around.

Summary: Firstly, before we travelled Gaynor was so patient and helpful and always replied to any enquiry really promptly. We arrived in Italy (Bari) late due to flight delays and by the time we sorted out the hire cars it was almost 7pm. We arrived at the villa at 8.30 and Mike, the representative was there to meet us, he was also so helpful, giving us directions to the local supermarket etc. We were 4 couples and the villa was more than big enough for us, really well equipped and a lovely welcome pack too. The house itself is beautiful and the outside space fantastic, absolutely massive with several seating areas to relax either in company or on your own. The pool is fabulous with an outdoor shower and plenty of sunbeds. There is a lovely outdoor dining are, barbecue and pizza oven with wood provided. We tried it and I can honestly say the pizza's we made were the best I have had for years. So from start to finish it was a wonderful holiday, the villa was just perfect and Gaynor and Mike were so helpful. We all agreed that we will definitely be booking this place again.

Summary: We had a super week staying at this lovely villa and exploring the area. We loved the outside area - pool was super - very well equipped with sun beds sitting and eating areas. Hence we spent a lot of time outside. Villa was very spacious and well equipped and had everything we needed. Really appreciated the very generous welcome goodies to start us off - never had a welcome pack quite like it!. Mike was very helpful with things we needed help with too. The folder full of information about the villa and area was very informative and helpful A lovely stay and would love to come back - there was so much more to see and do - a week wasn’t enough! Summary: We spent two weeks at Villa Azzurra in August 2020 as a family group with children. It proved to be an ideal holiday solution in consideration of the Covid emergency. We fully enjoyed the safety and comfort of the property and its beautiful swimming pool, in fact we ventured out very little. Supermarkets are at a reasonable distance by car, the medieval village of Oria is quite close, so are the beautiful beaches of Salento. The house is spacious, clean and has got everything one may need, the kitchen is very well equipped. Mike, the villa representative, was very kind and dealt effectively with a power cut issue, he also discretely took care of the cleaning of the pool. The outdoor BBQ area was used extensively in the evenings, enjoying the sunset and the wonderful grilled bombette pugliesi. We would highly recommend this holiday rental and are thinking of returning in the future.

Summary: Villa Azzurra, was the perfect family property. There were 12 of us and more than enough room for everyone. The pool and the property was bigger than we anticipated. All rooms very clean, with a cleaner popping in after the first week to refresh all the beds and towels. We made great use of the outside BBQ and pizza oven which was fantastic on our relaxing nights in. We would definately rent this villa again in the future. Highly recommended and close to all the famous areas to visit.
