The house is fabulous for a family holiday with lots of space inside and outdoors for open air eating and sunbathing in quiet surroundings with a fabulous view over the village. Found in a village setting within walking distance to the local centre where fresh bread is baked daily and local provisions can be bought. There is also a cafe bar and lovely restaurant and so many beautiful walks thought the local vineyards and woods.
The medieval town of Pezenas is only a short cycle ride away with its Saturday market, historic centre and craft shops and a fabulous wine tasting evening along the main street during the summer.
Numerous sandy beaches stretch along the Mediterranean coast only 24 km away and half an hours drive north takes you up into the hills of the Larzac with beautiful views, fabulous walking and watersports activity on Lake Salagou.

Summary: We had a wonderful week at this house. For us, a family with four kids in different ages, both the house and the village was perfect. Extra plus for the hospitality, the pool area and the possibility to walk to the local wine producer. The house is clean, well equipped and everything thoughtfully arranged, from generous amounts of toilet paper, soap and towels to cling film and mosquito repellant. Owners friendly and quick to reply on any questions. We highly recommend it!

Summary: Had a great stay, house was large and facilities good for a bigger group, Tourbes is a lovely small village and the larger town of Pezanas is only a short drive. Weather was very hot for our stay so the pool was well used and the kids enjoyed the environment. Overall highly recommend.

Summary: We have really enjoyed our two weeks in Tourbes. The house is well equipped and has everything you need. We especially enjoyed the pool and the big surroundings with the trees and the ping pong table. We made many trips in the area like visiting Montpellier, Bézier, Arles, Sète and many other sights (Abbaye Fontfroide, Carcassonne, St. Guilhelm le Désert, Pézenas). We went swimming on the beaches of Sérignan, Rochelongue and Valras. Sérignan is a large beach with very few people and a beautiful place. The two other beaches have many visitors and are fully equipped. Our teenagers liked the more populated beaches better. We really enjoyed dinner at the restaurant La Table des Vignerons in Tourbes. All in all we have spent a wonderful vacation in Tourbes. Thank you Penny for the easy contact and for answering all questions really kind and quick.

Summary: The welcome arrangements and departure were straightforward and Penny the owner was very helpful and responsive. The spacious house is in a lovely secluded position within an easy walk to the centre of Tourbes from which there are buses to Pezenas and Beziers. It is a great location from which to tour the region from coast to mountains crammed as it is with fantastic sights. The house itself is spacious and and the well maintained pool is such a bonus. There is ample air conditioning, which was essential on the hottest days. The exception is the ground floor bedrooms which rely on fans. The stair to the 1st floor bedroom is steep with open treads and while not a problem for us it could be a challenge for the less mobile or sure footed for nocturnal bathroom visits. Overall a lovely relaxing holiday base

Summary: We stayed here for a week in August and we were blown away. The house is everything we could have wanted. It is fully equipped with everything you need and all of the rooms in the house are lovely. We enjoyed using the BBQ outside and spending time in the pool when it was getting too hot! We spent lots of time at the property relaxing, playing table tennis and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It’s a short walk into the village. There’s a lovely cafe, bakery, pharmacy and small convenience store. Tourbes is a beautiful place. We have no doubt that we will be staying here again next year! A wonderful week.

Summary: Loved the setting on the edge of the village, only a few minutes walk from the centre, yet with all the peace and tranquility of the countryside. Great views of the village and beyond looking towards the coast. Well placed for amenities with a bakery and lively cafe in the village centre and several supermarkets only a few minutes drive away. We loved the outdoor pool and spent many days just lazing around it, with frequent dips to cool off from the 35 degree heat. Inside, the aircon in the main living area (and main bedroom) also provided welcome relief. We ate alfresco most of the time in the lovely shaded dining area just off the kitchen, which made preparing food and clearing up afterwards, easy. The new gas barbecue was quick and simple to use and we had several feasts with it. Equally, the sun terrace accessed from the mezzanine or main bedroom provided a perfect place for a "sundowner" or even a cup of coffee and also a photo opportunity. The open plan main living area we used at lunchtime when it was too hot to sit out and on the one day it rained. The kitchen was very well appointed with every conceivable plate, pan, casserole dish, utensil etc. and the large fridge/freezer enabled us to keep a plentiful stock of chilled food and drink. The ice maker was particularly welcome. Overall, we had an incredibly relaxing stay here. The peace and tranquility is unsurpassed and there is no need to venture beyond the extensive grounds of the villa in order to have an enjoyable time. Yet, the beach isn't very far away, nor is historic Pezenas or other towns of note, such as Montpellier. The local village provided us with entertainment as there was a festival when we were there, although sadly the fancy dress race in homemade go-carts from the top to the bottom of the village had to be cancelled because of rain! Nontheless, we thoroughly enjoyed being part of village cultural life, mingling with the locals and many ex-pats, who not surprisingly have made this laid-back, unspoilt, beautiful wine region their home.

Summary: We have just returned from this great house in Tourbes and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great, flexible and spacious house for a family holiday. The village is handy for access to major roads, beaches, rivers for canoeing and the lovely town of Pezenas. Pizzas and a couple of drinks in the village square only 10 minutes walk away. The house is tidy and clean and offers a great layout which suited us (a family of six). We actually used the little room behind the kitchen as an extra bedroom for our 12 year old so everyone had their own space. The garden is big and sitting above and on the edge of Tourbes the overwhelming atmosphere is of relaxing peace and quiet. All of the communication was very quick, responsive and helpful and things were made easy for us. Our favourite beach at Rochelongue was magic our first week with warm sea temperatures and its only 30 minutes away. We all enjoyed our big day out to Nimes and loved taking out a little boat at Marseillan...jelly fish aside. Walking around Pezenas in the evening (go in on Friday) followed by a few games of cards back at the house to finish off the day is a great way to relax and despite the incredible heat...we had another great holiday in this part of France. Don't hesitate to make this house.

Summary: The property is spacious and fixtures and fittings are to a high quality.. The air conditioning in the main living area and master bedroom we’re much appreciated with the increased temperatures we faced this year. The renovations that have been carried out so far are to a high standard. The land the property sits in affords privacy and a feeling of space and peace.The local town was welcoming with a cafe, bakery and great restaurant. Summary: We had a great time there, the weather was beautiful our kids just loved the pool and the house with plenty of space in there own rooms to do their own thing. Summary: Had a great time in the pool. The upper terrace was fantastic for drinks and nibbles in the evenings sunshine. The village is easy to walk to and the cafe has a great atmosphere. We went to the festival in Pezenas on Friday night and the market on Saturday morning as recommended by the owners - both well worth a visit.
